1st place prize next year possibly $1,000,000.
If we want this contest as large as possible, as big of a Prize Pool as we can get, even more keywords would be wise to consider.
"Mock Hilton SuperContest Football Contest" for example. Which, on it's surface sounds stupid but to rank high on Google might be wise.
You're right though...desire for a contest that mirrors the other one as closely as possible & instituting weekly prize (or other tweaks) are in conflict. Of course we could just go ahead and do it anyway, make it however a majority wanted it and still call it "Mock Hilton SuperContest Football Contest".
Like most...I am down for whatever the majority and/or contest runners and Jeff want to do.
And will be back to NOT crash and burn in week 17 next season.

I would love to play the real Hilton or Westgate contest, but would want to go in with 4 others to reduce the expense and have access to more brains in making the picks. My NFL picks sucked this year.

Entry divided 4 ways is only $375(?) per person. Prize next year is GONNA be a MILLION if Kornegay has to force people at GUNPOINT to enter to get there. By my pathetic math calculations only an added 350 entrants or so above this year's 1403(?) would get the Prize Pool to $1,000,000 1st place prize.
The BIG obstacle, and what CHBallers was totally BLESSED with not being hobbled by is to amass a team thats gonna work positively together and not become a quibbling MESS fighting over which plays to go with. In an overwhelming % of instances team of FOUR the very first time Guy #1 is on Side A and STRONG but team goes with SIDE B and takes a loss....well you can imagine where they go from there.
Maybe your picks don't suck so bad next year OCK. Whatever the case I'd strongly encourage you to get in. If no team member can submit in person in Vegas you'd have Proxy Fee also....which generally (I believe) goes about $250 + 2% of winnings....if you decide to do it and need proxy a simple Google Search would reveal which ones are available and even which one CHBallers used...they used a very reputable, dependable and veteran one who really....if his fees include the 2% of winnings MIGHT be in the mood to charge LESS next season LOL.
As If. Dude is gonna have his hands FULL next season. I wonder if he might not have 250 proxies to manage lmeao.
If so thats $62,500 just in base fees he's pocketing pre-tax. Not bad for a job that largely entails hanging out at Westgate Sportsbook which is especially enjoyable if you like the company of cab drivers playing $5 six-team parlays lol.
Be mindful of tax questions too if you create a team entry....CHBallers had one guy's name on the entry...what does one do in regards to TAXES in such a scenario? Does Westgate allow multiple names on entries? Surely if not in the past they will going forward right?
Wouldn't taxes on $736,000 be $300,000ish?
What would tax be on $1,000,000? forum user taxman would know.

CHBallers had a hell of a run this year, just crazy. I know a proxy, so that would not be a problem.
I was thinking if 5 guys went in together, each one could make their strongest play of the week, but like you said, one of them is going to have some bad luck or get a bad beat and unless the 5 can hold it together, all hell could break lose.
The taxes would be a good problem to have. The ones at the bottom don't have a tax problem.

I would strongly consider joining a team of players for next year in the real contest. I do know a team from here at BW entered
the real contest a couple years back-They did not fare so well in the final results. I do not know what type of system they used with 5 guys
or if they had any issues.
count me in as very interested for next year to join a team for the westgate nfl contest

I know I would be really interested in people's thoughts on strategy, along the lines of what you proposed about each guy submitting a Top Pick. major interest on my part on ideas of how to keep Peace within a group, to avoid warfare...
Obviously "Consensus" of 3 guys or more (out of group of 4 or 5) picks would be used....I guess I "like" Top Pick idea but not "love" it and I don't know why beyond sensing theres more intelligent, refined and statistically BETTER foundation "set in stone" things to base picks on like...
Didn't Titans go 3-14 ATS this past season? I know I should look it up and eventually will but wouldn't, for example, figuring out which team is the Titans ATS disaster FADE for next season be better, devoting a spot on the 5 spot card to THAT, fading them ATS than some guy's TOP PICK?
This is just one of several "auto plays" I'm kicking around for a card next year cuz pretty much my personal plays have sucked as well and I learned a great deal from observing my LOSSES here in the Mock.
Not enough, unfortunately, to avoid imploding in the final week of the contest. Whatever I learned though I still ain't nowhere close to figuring out how CHBallers and so many others found confidence in Carolina vs. Atlanta. To me that was a great call, Philly + 3 vs. Giants too with Philly off a crushing playoff hope killing defeat and NYG Historically playing so WELL for Coughlin late season.
I swear it feels like whatever I learn just some things "sharps" can figure out, see.....I have no HOPE of seeing. ever.

Maybe a consideration of dropping the "Hilton" out of the contest name might be a good idea. Hilton Hotels hasn't been a part of the real contest the past few seasons. What would be wrong with using- Mock SuperContest? The rules should stay the same, otherwise you're not really mocking the real contest (IMO).
