Hi all, 1st off hope all is well and staying safe.

With the NFL season up in question for this year, it looks like they are going to try to get it to go.

Since around this weekend the preseason would be starting and we normally would start to get it set up for the season.

Want to send out feelers to see how much interest there would be in doing another one this season.

If we do start, we will have to figure out some COVID related rules in case season gets canceled in-season.

That would still work if the NFL season starts on time, but what if a full season is not played? The Westgate and Circa have different rules on how long the season must last for the contest to be ruled official.

Westgate Rule No. 17: The professional football regular season must consist of at least ten (10) weeks for the Westgate Las Vegas SuperContest to be considered valid. If the regular season is shortened to less than ten (10) weeks, the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook may cancel the contest and all entry fees will be refunded. This does not apply to the 1st and 2nd Quarter Bonuses.

Circa Rule No. 15: The Contest will be considered official after week 12 of the professional football season. If the professional football season does not run at least twelve (12) weeks, all Contest entry fees will be refunded. If the professional football season is not completed as scheduled, but lasts twelve (12) weeks or more, the point leader at the time the season is canceled will be declared the winner. This Rule in no way affects the MVP bonus payouts. If material technical difficulties or other Acts of God circumstances prevent the Contest from being completed after week 12, the Contest will still be action and prizes will be awarded based on current point totals at the time of cancellation.

Sounds like we would need a similar rule. IF the season lasts x number of weeks, the standings at that point are official. But if the season is cancelled before that point, entry fees could be refunded, less any expenses to return the fees. If the season only lasts a few weeks, the leader at that point could hardly be considered the winner and many will be tied for the top spots even after three or four weeks.

Might as well go with the 10-week Westgate Rule. We always say we like to be a Mock Hilton Contest. Now, it's actually a Mock Westgate Contest. Either way, we try to go by most of their rules and procedures.

Hey guys just waiting for a message back from Woodee on if he is going to handle the 'hilton' and i'm going to handle survivor payments. and i will be posting 2 new threads one for hilton and one for survivor after i hear back.

We are thinking of using the westgate rule for the hilton style if the season goes 10 weeks or more it is valid, if less than 10 weeks, it is refunded.

For survivor if season cancels during season whomever is left will split what ever payments there is so for example if 10 people started and season cancels and 5 people have not lost yet, the 500 will be split between the 5 that are left.

Sorry guys been busy witth getting back to school and setting up our fall baseball league...

I will be happy to take the money for the mock contest.

We should follow whatever rules they are using for the real one for sure so we can default to that on any issues. Who knows what will happen anymore?! If the virus doesnt get us the "protests" will.

I will post contact info for sending in payments once a solid thread is started for the contests.
