Any info on good sports books in Australia that take American sports? I already use canbet, and I understand centrebet doesn't take customers from America. Please leave web addresses. Thank You.

never used them - there are others, but these guys are online and seem to have more US stuff now - www.sportodds.com.au, although no real US focus and 1.90 type odds, so perhaps better value elsewhere, but a lot of other options

Solid? Yeah, generally speaking - bookmaking probity is very rigorous plus all the financial guarantees etc, sportodds guy even gets on tv on Friday
you wouldn't have heard of National Sportsbet or Sydney Sportstab either, but they are multi-billion dollar companies
they have a NSW licence and have not heard anything bad about them

Places like TAB Corp. are more solid than any of the Caribbean books OR their governments even. Why? Because a place like TAB is run by the government, either in New Zealand or Australia. These companies are state-run giants, and just like the Tote in England they pay no matter what. Putting their "solidity" aside, their betting options might be an entirely different matter, but from what I hear there are lots of interesting bets to be made at these places.

I would say any sportsbook licensed in Australia is solid. I'm with 7 of them.
AV2, I'm also with sydneyallbets which take phone only wagers on only aussie sports plus premier league soccer. They have an undeveloped site at sydneyallbets.com.au
Some price variation but they bring out their odds for NBL too late compared to other books.
A toll free number would be good too.
They got a $200 bonus though for sign up of $1000

yeah, there are a few phone only places that will take footy bets etc., being the biggest game in town, pretty much bookies at racetracks that are allowed to do sports phone betting - another one like the one you mention is Bill Hurley - has a website, but just phone betting
www.sportsbook.com.au I think it is
always good to have more footy opportunities

the thing about places like National Sportsbet, that don't bet on a lot of things and have worse odds due to the tax regime - still might be opportunities - for instance Townsville a couple of weeks ago was -17.5 or -18 at a lot of places, but they had -15
so do you take 1.85 rather than 1.90 and a couple more points?
Similarly for the NBA, don't think they are watching Don Best screens, as they have the 1.85 thing, so could be spreads out a couple of points as well - no idea if they will take Americans these days though

Good question regarding 1.85 + some extra points verses 1.90.
Should be possible to work that out. I'm not sharp but want to get sharper so I'll try working it out sometime.
btw, excellent unofficial NBL site at nbltoday.waus.net/
Official site has good stats for each game too...I guess you knew that.
Is National Sportsbet the victab sports arm?
I was holidaying in QLD recently and noticed their TAB take sport wagers too.

yeah, that is the best NBL site around
the offical one is ok for boxscores, but they get the scores up fast - am on a nice NBL run too
National Sportsbet is Vic TAB yeah - evils rumors/stories of a SuperTAB type deal going ahead where smaller ones will get in on National Sportsbet, so that would be a bit of a bummer, linewise
QTab privatised recently, yeah, and wants to get in on fixed odds sports betting
