    Hello Peeps

    Just Wondering

I been looking at many sportsbook web pages. Many of them state they are the best or largest offshore book in the world. I know that all can't be telling the truth.

What constitutes the largest or best sportsbook:

    1- financial stability
    2- customers
    3- employees
    4- various wagers (props)
5- limits they put on a sport
    6- easy access
I'm not completley sure. Pretty new at this and just want to hear how others feel.

    Thanks you
    for any responses

What constitutes the best, is strictly a matter of personal choice.

As far as the largest, everything you mention is important, and goes hand in hand.

The more customers a book has, the more employess they will need to provide service to them, thus hopefully making them very stable.

Sure, books use biggest and best in their marketing, but only a few can lay claim to potentially being the biggest.

Among the largest in the world would have to be CRIS, William Hill, Ladbrokes, Coral, WWTS, Victor Chandler.

Hey, I visited books with hundreds of computer screens and huge office space, and I've visited books with two computer screens and no office space.....each has their place in the industry.......

are places like WWTS and Cris really multi-billion dollar operations?

If not, must be a few from countries that have 'state' bookmakers that should be on that list.......

From a BM's standpoint, I think the volume of bets taken determines who the biggest book is and that would make CRIS the biggest from this past year. I don't know how much of the business went with Monte when he left, but when together, they handled a unbelieveable amount of wagers.

Intheknow......I agree if we're strictly talking American sports. However if we're talking all sports combined, I'd imagine William Hill and other European giants are bigger/more volume.

How about Nasa International? They claim they are the largest offshore book.

well, for example, fin told me that the turnover of Veikkaus is around 1.5 billion Australian dollars

Tabcorp, as another example, just one Australian state, had a turnover last year of close to 10 billion Australian dollars

NSW Tab would be something similar

and these are smaller than some from other countries

                        AV,

"TAB Limited is one of the largest wagering organisations in the world with turnover of AUS$4b. Sydney SportsTAB commenced
operations in July 1998 and has established itself as one of Australia's largest Sportsbooks."

                        Blurb from the company.

that was from investor info on site, although it was late, so may have misread, still in the right order of magnitude though

the Finnish example was translated by someone else

                            AussieVamp:-
The $10billion by SportsTab is a combination
of all betting. I would assume that SportsBetting is only a small part of it.

Last year when I was in Perth I had a look at what WATAB had to offer and it was pathetic.

How is Darwin All-Sports? I was thinking of going with them for while (patriotic deeds) but I changed my mind after they just did not offer enuff soccer and NCAA basketball?

What are the Vanuatu operations like?

                            Cheers,

DAS has a few soccer leagues

                              Canbet has more now

                              Centrebet has heaps

                              Megasports has quite a lot

well, Tabcorps money more in racing
so race and sportsbook, whatever, still big My Stardust cap says it is a race and sportsbook too

WA is getting more with the program, but they had stupid tiny little pari-mutuel pools, horrible idea, but they are a tad more extorionate than the other state TABs I think
