    Boomer,

I think that is a really weak response. Perhaps Dana is a friend of yours. While you did state that "there's no place for personal affronts or rudeness", you have tried to steer clear of offering an opinion on that kind of response by Don Best.

All I know is that someone posted a false accusation here against Bowman International, and they CHOSE to respond in a very professional manner. I've seen some unprofessional responses by Olympic and Don Best, and that is inexcusable. Let's not beat around the bush.

Dana, is that the way you respond to a hostile situation? I assume that you are the head of Don Best, and if you lack the patience and courtesy that someone of your position should have, then I can't begin to imagine what kind of tolerance limits your customer service department has.

Sure, people get on your nerves, but you have a responsibilty and duty to respond in a much more professional manner. Or do you even care?

That must have been an accreditied law school you went to Dana, to learn that great semantics, and use of language. First to all that think Im strring up trouble feel free, to thik that. Anyone who has been following my posts knows that Dana has not answered any of my recent questions directly, you say this is his choice , maybe?.I say, he has never matched wits, with someone who knows more information about this industry then myself. Saying that "I thought that would help protect players and be good for the industry" is ludicrous. Please explain how any time of collusion is good for the small time player sitting at home. The bottom line is for years you ran a service(after you dad gave it to you) with out a problem, you began being a shill for people, and Im sure now regret any of the negative responses that your are getting. Check Buzz's artilce yesterday, on the possibility of a certtain group (P.B's) controlling the numbers on the Donn Best screen, and Ill give you a hint, they arent the only ones. One of my first posts here on the forum, questioned whether or not , people asked the tough questions here.everyone said...yea yea.I guess I should have asked, does anyone ask the right questions here?? Dana all I think a person like myself wants to hear, is that you made a mistake. You had a conflict of interest, in trying to conform the books, when you have "players" paying you a nickel a month for service. Your job should be simple, post the numbers thats all. I am tru e to what I belive the books dont need any help, I will continue to fight for the players, Im the Jimmy Hoffa, of the betting world, I have more information then you ever could think I could have.
PS: Boomer stay out of it, one inept lawyer is enough to ruin my day
PPS:Boomer, where you there in grade school when Dana got his milk money taken away
      also??
PPS: sorry folks, someitmes I cant help, but throw a cheap shot in there..Dana any response

I must admit that my high impression of Dana at Don Best took drop when I read his tirade.

It is the same as if he started screaming and banging the table in a dine club - this is a rather public forum you know ...

I have seen it happen time and time again. Some nuts start posting offensive remarks and otherwise good books (or people like Dana) get swept up and act like jerks themselves with obscene replys.

My advice is not to stoop to the level of these jerks - no one expects you to respond to them at all - don't let them win by goating you into acting the fool yourself ...

What a weak mind one has, when they are chastized for askign questions, for a service they subscribe to. Is it my understanding MLS, that we should just ask rhetorical questions to the books, and to other issues we have, with out expecting to get an "honest" answer. Lesson from business school 101, the customer is always right. I dont need to use curse words, to challenge any thing about Donn Best says, or with holds, If the "Best" no pun intended, the lawyer can do, is call me names, and go F** myslef, then it shows you what he is made up of, cmon Dana answer the questions, dont you think we have a right to know....I dont think your law career would have lasted so long if you argued like this in front of a judge and juror......still seems to me like everyone needs to defend Dana....Double JJ, "Hoffa" for the people....

            Double JJ-
You say Dana's repsonsibility is to the players best interests because they pay a nickel a month. I believe that the books pay a far greater amount than that to be on the feed(someone with accurate details might enlighten the forum) and also one of Don Best side business besides the feed is their sports rotation schedule which the books buy from him. So he has 2 sets of customers players and bookies with both sides practically impossible to satisfy. He is in a delicate no-win situation regarding the 10 cent line and in my opinion Dana should publicly be nuetral and let the chips fall as they may.

Double]], ask the hard questions but avoid the cheap shots. They just lead to flames, more words, and less information.

i agree about the part where Dana should have remianed neutral. If we are to get the answers the questions you have asked, Dana should be willing to supply them? or maybe not. I had stated that what I had wanted was to Dana to admit he had a conflict in interest, and he hadnt represented the "players" as he said in an earlier post, with their best intetnions. Hoffa- "loved or hated- but never forgotten..."

BBuster, I could be wrong, but from what I understand the books pay nothing to be on the Don Best screen. A lot of books don't want to be on the feed because they simply don't want the wiseguy action it attracts.

Although I greatly value the Don Best service, I have also criticized it in the past. However, I have never resorted to disrespectful, vitriolic ad hominem attacks as has Double JJ. Dana is a gentleman who has always handled complaints expeditiously and with a true service-oriented attitude. Simply put, he doesn't deserve this type of lambasting. In this case, no one should blame him for reacting as he did to the cheap, below-the-belt tactics employed
                          by Double JJ.

If you want to come in firing, Double JJ, come in with some ammo. All I see are some accusations with no substance or proof. If you want respect in this forum, you won't receive it unless you present yourself in an appropriate manner and provide evidence for your inflammatory rhetoric. If you went at Dana in a court of law the way you went at him here, the judge would probably cite you for contempt of court.

I really don't understand why some people are defending the juvenile behaviour of Don Best. Don Best was wrong, period. He admits that he "flew off the handle", but later says "now you all think I was unprofessional, please". You are just contradicting yourself, and trying to make excuses for your lack of self control.

reno, you say that Don Best is a "gentleman".
I guess a gentleman can "fly of the handle", and then try to make excuses for that boorish behaviour. You'd have your work cut out for you trying to convince me.

I could e-mail various sportsbooks some nasty comments regarding this whole 20 cent line fiasco. I could accuse these sportsbooks of being greedy, insensitive to the wishes of their customers, and other nasty things. The more "professional" sportsbooks would refrain from stooping to my level, and send me a polite e-mail in response. The "unprofessional" sportsbooks would stoop to my level, and in their best "Don Best impersonation" probably tell me to to "shut the f**k up".

I know which sportsbook I'd join. But I guess those of you defending Don Best would still join those sportsbooks that told you to shut the f**k up.

I'd say Dana has been more than professional in the many times he has answered posts here in the forum. Certainly don't fault him for finally reaching a limit in replying to disparging remarks. I actually appreciate the fact that he does respond to our queries. Certainly gives me more insight.
