I can't believe you guys complaining about XXXX...

So what am I supposed to say, after being stuck in the US for two years? I rarely drank beer. Instead I drank this stuff called Busch or Bud or Coors. Some claimed it was beer... I disagree.

VB and Tooheys are my favourite.

About the AUD, I think it's a good currency. I have some accounts over there, so it better rebound and go up. Wait till Sydney 2000...

For now I still recommend the EURO, but only when it falls to 0.90 . I can't see it going any lower, so once it does change religions.

      Cons,

I have tried a huge number of beers.

Coors is 100% without a doubt the worst beer in the world. Even worse than home brew that is done badly (but will at least have some taste and alcohol)

Coors was actually better that the other so-called American "beers."

Have you ever tried Busch Light? We even called the 0-800# (sorry 1-800... ) and the guy informed us that Busch was made from corn. CORN! It must go along well with tacos and nachos...

I can't believe this corn-brew was actually labelled as beer. Compared to this swill (and others like Bud-Yuck), Coors is quality stuff.

          umm, I think maybe once

when it was a very dodgy bar and they were like 25 to 50 cents

and I could still only manage 1

Yeah. I preferred VB and even Strongarm there (down there), but obviously I can't either here so I got to stick with the Czech alternatives. We do get Foster's however - made in England.

Bud? We used to have a place here that offered Bud with NFL, fortunately it went bankrupt. But you can still buy Bud at selected supermarkets for $2 (USD) a bottle.

(Replace "here" with whatever you feel like)

Yeah, the Czechs sure know how to make beer. They also know how to play football. FIFA is listing them at #2, much too high if you ask me. I could name half-a-dozen teams that would blast them off the field...

...but they still make the best beer. Anyone fancy a weekend in Prague this summer?

                ok Cons, name those teams

                Strongarm?

Fin, actually had one a few weeks ago, I was not at all impressed

                  Um, let me see...

Spain, Holland... that's about it. OK, make it 1/6 of a dozen then.

Does anyone here find German beer any good? I must say I have never been a fan of their beer, contrary to the usual "oh yeah, the Germans sure know their beer." I think out of all the beers I know, these guys actually make the worst beer. Barring one country that is.

Nah, there is some fun German stuff

go into a bottle shop some time and dig up some dusty stubbies that have

                    8-9% alcohol content

                    then have fun

You can hardly call the 8-9% stuff beer. It's like turbo beer or something. I know what you mean, I used to have this stuff once in a while...

In general I think German beer is pretty bad, far worse than the beer of any other country I know. Well, almost... But everywhere in Europe you can find better beer, which is surprising because the Germans are supposed to be beer champs. Hey, they're the second largest beer consumers per capita in the world. Guess who's first...

You should try "Alderney Ale"... we use it to power our standby generator! :-))

Mark, if I have the time I will surely make an expedition to check out Sportingbet down in Alderney. I'm based in Bournemouth right now, so it's not that far away...

Do you strictly manage US sports, or do you also run the soccer section as well? Anyway, good luck to you and hopefully I'll have the opportunity to check out your new alternate energy supply, straight from the brewery...

                              Cons,

I agree, haven't found a good German beer yet

They're still a lot better than most Swedish brands though.. yecch.

AV, Strongarm seemed to be the only alternative to Cascade (or whatever) in several places so that makes it look good. Besides the bottle is cool

Hmm, wonder if this kind of discussion should be taking place at the pissing contest forum instead....

                                only alternative?

didn't go in enough bottle shops I guess

either that, or lazed around in too many restaurants - would actually have to look hardish for strongarm I think, although there was a spate of cinema advertising a while back, the beefcake bit, of course
