First of all, let me say that the claim of Dunes of "being the only and 1st book out there that have the betting in progress" is simply not true.

Like Alec said, at least 5 or 6 books I know about had offered something like this long, long time ago. Like DAS, B&W, etc.

But the bottom line is, they are way different than what Boomer or Dunes had described in here - which is a pure form of gambling.

There are also many differences between WSEX interactive and the Dunes betting in progress.

First of all, correct me if I'm wrong, Steve. But my impression is, most of the interactive players are not high rollers. As you said in your site, a trade of 20 shares (about a dime) or more may make you pause the game/price. In other word, this is something for your customers for fun mainly, a selling point maybe but definitely not a way to make you rich, otherwise you may want to do it every night with 3 or 4 games.

Thats why I asked for the min/limits of the Dunes on such bets, if all of those lines were provided by their one and only BM, I wonder if they will be interested in a request from a $20 or $50 bettor. Like Boomer said, they need you to committ to bet even before you hear the price, it shows how "valuable" of the time of their BM there.

Second of all, WSEX's lines were posted over the net, virtually we all will get the same lines even though it was changing from time to time. So, there is still chance over there that WSEX will have 2 sided actions - even though it may not be well balanced all the time.

But over in Dunes, it was and it will be always 1 sided action.

Like Boomer said, the BM quote you a price, you will need to choose either side to bet and how much. And thats it, done. Its a price/line for yourself only at that moment during the game, they will not have any so-called take back. That price is for you only and others may never see or hear that price again, period.

In fact, if the BM over there at Dunes is smart enough, he will profile most of their high rollers/middlers/scalpers (that will be interested to play this type of bet) and knowing clearly what their betting pattern is and what are they holding on hand during the game (at least in their Dunes account of course) and then to quote them the price that will be in Dunes best interest.

But I seriously doubt it. For a book that can't even get themselve online after selling hard for almost a month, I can't imagine thay will have the talents to perform such thing.

So, either its just a short term gimmick (hey I don't blame them, remember when 5dimes came here not long ago, bookybashr promised the same thing but it has NEVER been came true at all, and we all know these are just some "neccessary" gimmicks that most new books needed), or they are putting themselves on the line in the long run.

Like Reality said, this is not a good idea. Not at all.

      AYCE,
I agree w/ your last post. Are there low limits to these in progress bets-if so what are they?

Like Boomer my bets using the "in progress" betting at the Dunes has been very very helpful.

I am not surprised Reality cannot figure out how to use it to his advantage ...

I was not going to post on this topic but.. Let's just say the tree has beared a ton of fruit so far this spring from Dunes. And I got in on the train late. I know a few people that are whacking them BIG TIME . Now on the flip side I will admit I am a little scared (yes! Scared)that this book is new and I have a chance of losing my $. But like someone said here a few months ago in a post this is all part of taking a chance at this gambling/middle/scalping thing if we lose our money because a book does not pay or goes under it's just part of the %'s.Just hope when and if that time comes your bankroll can handle it.

You know, these poor SOBs at Dunes just can't win. If gamblers lose, they bitch and moan, if gamblers win they think they're going under. Give me a break. I've been to their offices, these guys ain't going NOWHERE.

Talk about what you know about okay. I personally lost 50+ dimes there yesterday, how bad do you think they're doing.

              MLS,
You still haven't figured out I'm not a bettor.
Oh thats right you must be a psychiatrist and we are playing that game that lawyers do when they cross examine witnesses.
They do everything the can to make that witness blow up to ruin his credibility and discredit all his previous testimony (POSTS)
Now I get, it pretty good.
There is no way i can stand toe to toe with this guy so I have to make him look stupider than me,so i look like the smart guy.
              Sorry.
Homey don't play that game either.

I'll say it again. The Dunes cannot offer huge signup bonuses and last long. I hear they are in trouble already. They may have the nicest office in the world, chances are they are renters. Who owns this place anyway?

Johnny -"YOU HEARD THEY ARE IN TROUBLE ALREADY". Can you back that up? I'm sure you don't mind me asking, where did you hear it?

                        Krackman,
What I meant by a "renter" is this. Boomer stated earlier that they had a really plush office. What I meant about renting is that they probably don't own that office they rent it. Two well established books in Curacao that the Dunes got hurt really bad the first month they were open. I should of added that I was told that the people running the Dunes have very good intentions of paying everyone. The owners are supposedly straight shooters. Huge initial signup bonuses can kill a place if the public gets hot and that is what I heard happened. Imagine if a huge player like Boomer comes in lays down 50K. They add 12.5 to that and that really adds up. Big signing bonuses attract wise guys. A lot of offshore places run wise guys off. Hope I am clearer to you now.

Johnnie, I don't think a 10% bonus is excessive. Based on what I've read on BW, I'm sure they are well backed.

I was going to pass on this and the other nonsense I read here in the last few days, but when people bad mouth a book without having any knowledge it pisses me off.

Johnny put the "f" up or shut the "f" up, you are costing these people money with your foolish lies. Tell me what sportsbooks told you they are in trouble.

Any book and I mean ANY book that I am into can take a pounding for a season or two or three let alone a week or two. Speak about what you know, okay, and start harming people's business. I will NOT tolerate it!!!

                              Boomer,
Nothing personal here, don't take it that way. I told the truth on what I was told. If you would bother to read my last post on this subject you will see where I said that the owners of the Dunes are supposedly straight shooters. How much do you know about them really? Who are they? Don't tell me what you will and won't tolerate either. I've been nothing but good to you. The way your acting about this it seems as if you have a financial interest or something.
I stick by my guns on the fact that any place that initially offers a 20-25% signup bonus is a sitting duck. That is an insurmountable figure. There is only a 5 or 6% margin to run a legitmate outlet. I know this business inside out. Don't insult me telling me I don't know what I'm talking about.
