    Boomer,
Not strictly true. You were told that if you are playing Baseball sides that are moving a lot then you will get cut to these amounts some of the time. If I remember correctly, you thanked me for my honesty on the matter.
Some books decided to go to a twenty cent line to cope with the bad times that baseball makes. We did not. We prefer to allow people to bet the dime line instead.
My origional comments for Reno stand. My point is that, if he plays here for a time and has some gripes, then fair enough. However, if he opens up and never plays then it is not.

If you go the the other BW posting forums, there is one specifically for questions to VC book. There is a question there about limits, and VC's response wouldn't even pin down any numbers. Just a comment that there are no specific limits. I take this to mean than you can bet a lot if you're losing and laying bad numbers; and very little otherwise.

Way to go Reno and Boomer for telling it the way it is.

They can get the recreational players "ga-ga" with words about betting limits that they could only dream about, but they can't bull**** you guys that are willing to step up with serious bucks and have been declined.

Another case of ---"Suckers welcome ----- all others need not apply".

          Sports,
These are our limits and we do not follow a policy of anything you want if you are losing and very little if you are not.
Reno sounds like a sharp guy. He will find this out if he plays here.

Dot Mix, I think you're going overboard with the "suckers welcome" stuff, etc.

I have talked to Chris on more that one occasion and he has always been honest with me. He is a great pro and you can always talk to him if you have any problems or queries. He is even the sort of BM that at times will make a line on the spot if you ask for it, on a bet that normally isn't available!

Reno, when did the British Empire crumble? We simply gave most countries their independence, though we still exert control over them through our foreign policy.

Even in WW2 we controlled the way events happened. British Military Intelligence has alwyas been the best in the world, and still is. We knew Pearl Harbour would be obliterated, but did we let the Yanks know? Of course not. We let the Japs hit you because we needed a little extra manpower to help us out. After all, we're not a big nation if you think about it...

Chris, I can only go on the info I'm given. First, I was misinformed about your on-line lines being current, and, then, I was misinformed about your limits. Obviously, people who work there should either know the correct answers to these type questions or refer people like me to those who do know.

Also, until your on-line wagering program is available, why can't you provide real-time odds like some other books do? And if you can't do that, why not get on a live feed like Don Best's Island Express or Feist's SportsTracker? Serious players--even non-pros--do not like the hassle of calling for repeated line updates.

I'm still not clear on your baseball limits. Is it 3 dimes on sides on non-"steam" games and 1 dime on ""steam " games? And how do you define "steam" games? There are a lot of little "steam" move during the course of a day. and then the Pokers, and the Koshers to some extent, create the big "steam."

I won't close my account yet. I'll hang in there for awhile and see how it goes.

With VC's reputation and resources there is no reason you guys shouldn't be big-time like a CRIS, WWTS, Sports Market, or Sky Book. And if you talk to Roger at WWTS, Charlie or J.R. at Sport Market, or Lance at Sky Book, they will tell you that so-called "wiseguys like Boomer and I are not a problem at all. If they hang a number, they want someone to take it. We simply help them balance their action.

My criticism is meant to be constructive. It will only help me if VC is super successful and has high limits. I am a big fan of sportsbooks. I want them all to make mega-millions.

                  "Pirates of the Carribean"
Yes I have to admit that a number of operators out of the Carribean have given books in this area a bad reputation, but to class all books who are located here as pirates is obscene.
Pinnacle Sports does have a Brittish Bookmaking licence, so why are we based in Curacao you ask?
                  One simple answer TAX!
The tax rate here allows us to offer some of the most competitive prices in the market place.
Most uk books operate as a tote not as a book, they are comfortable with thier 8-12% holds.
I appologise for this being a bit of a rant but it annoys the hell out of me that people can cast all books in the Carribean in one hole because of the reputation of a few.

The British Empire, which was based on "colonialism" (direct political control) collapsed slowly and surely over time, as colonies gained their independence. Then the U.S., which was bigger and smarter, instituted "imperialism," (subtle and sophisticated economic control), which enabled them to exploit the natural resources and cheap labor in these countries.

                        Reno,
Firstly, I do not consider 'Brits should stick to tea, crumpets, cricket, corn flakes and cigars, and avoid booking American sports' as being 'contructive'. Do you? Please keep your nationalistic stereotypes to yourself.
Secondly, When we go online we will provide real time odds on our site. We envisage this to be by 1st August at the latest.
As for going on Don Best or Sports tracker; Is it your opinion that yet another book joining the Vegas circus is good for the industry?
How many books are on DB?
How many of them move off air when a book with a known strong line moves?
You know the answer's to these questions and can you tell me that my implications are wrong?
Our way of dealing baseball may or may not be different to others. I suspect that it is not too different. Our maximum is $3,000 on a side and some of the time a smaller bet will be offered.
We have a choice during baseball. We can offer a twenty cent line and all the sharp business will go or we can offer a dime line and keep some of it. We chose the first but at the same time realise that baseball can hurt.
You talk about needing a book with high limits and all that. Well, baseball is the quiet season for all books. Come football I challenge you to play here and complain about limits or being cut back.
                        Thanks
                        Chris

Chris, if my Dad saw this post thread, he'd string me up by my gonads. His parents, in 1936, sent him, as a 16-year old, from Nazi Germany to a boarding school in England. Then, when World War 2 broke out, he joined the British Army.

Well, my Dad still speaks with a distinct British accent and regularly visits England, where a number of family relatives live. He always buys me expensive gifts from his favorite London department store, Harrods.

Tell me if my earlier points are wrong?

                              Chris, Reno...

I'm glad you boys have kissed and made up.

So, Chris, does this mean I can send you some money and play 3 dimes a pop, 1 dime on totals.

You're book is very appealing to me because of your soundness and I would like to play there. I certainly don't bet only steam plays and would give you lots of action.

                                Boomer,
You have played here in the past and will always be welcome to do so in the future. By reading this thread and by talking to me, you should know the rules. Max on sides is $3,000 but less will sometimes be offered. I can't quite figure out why such a hard time is being given over such a simple rule.
Most book that I have dealt with in my life will offer different amounts on different occasions depending on their needs on a particular event. We are no different.
And yes, many book all over the world are safe to send your money but, undoubtably, as the amount sent rises the number of 'safe' places fall.
We have been for a long time and will continue to be safe.
So safe, Reno, that your dad could have played with Victor when he was in blighty all those years ago.
                                Chris
