    SPORTSHOBBY,

    WHAT WOULD YOU RATHER BOOK?

    KNICKS-3 FOR 50 DIMES.

    OR,

    KNIX-3 10 DIMES

    KNIX-3.5 10 DIMES

    KNIX-4 10 DIMES

    KNIX-4.5 10 DIMES

    KNIX-5 10 DIMES

    TOTAL 50 DIMES

OBVIOUSLY WE KNOW IF THIS ISN'T EVENTUALLY THE SIDE WE MOST LIKELY WILL GET BUYBACK ACTION AT +4.

IF THIS GAME LANDS 4 IF WE BOOKED 50 DIMES MINUS 3 WE GO FOR THE WHOLE BET.

IN THE SECOND SCENARIO WE HAVE A CHANCE TO LOSE SMALL AND POSSIBLY BREAK EVEN IF THERE INDEED WAS NO BUYBACK AND SOME PLAYER WAS CRAZY ENOUGH TO LAY THE LAST 10 DIMES AT -5...

    THE SAME APPLIES TO BASEBALL.

    WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER BOOK:

    YANK-20 FOR 50 DIMES

    OR

    YANKS-20 10 DIMES

    YANKS-25 10 DIMES

    YANKS-30 10 DIMES

    YANKS-35 10 DIMES

    YANKS-40 10 DIMES

    TOTAL 50

DO YOU WANT TO BOOK 50 DIMES YANKS-20 OR AT 10 DIMES A POP, 50 DIMES AT AN AVERAGE PRICE OF YANKS-30?

AND IF THE POKERS PLAY THE SAME SIDE AS THE ASIANS YOU HAVE LESS EXPOSURE AND A BETTER CHANCE AT A BUY BACK BECAUSE OF THE INCREMENTAL INCREASES IN THE LINE...

      SPORTSHOBBY,

      YOU WOULD LOSE THAT BET.

      THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN CONTACTCTED.

AS RECENTLY AS LAST WEEK OLYMPIC WAS ASKED AND DECLINED.

REALITY, I don't remember when but you told a story of letting a very big player play into your football numbers as long as he played solely into you and played very early in the week. You said that that was one of your best weapons as you were able to use that to solidify your numbers. Why should this be that much different if you stipulated they play early. You would not have a week like in football, but if they played early, you could still have time to balance a large portion of action. It is a lot easier to get big buyback quicker in baseball. The vultures are everywhere.

I agree with reno in laying off. If you are a 20 cent book, what exactly is the difference of laying off at -120 or moving to -140 and getting buyback at +120?

I would think that laying off would cause less of a flood of steam from other smaller books moving on air than seeing a CRIS or Olympic go from -125 to -140 instantly.
