College Buckets Week of 1/3/2006

Since its a new year and I basically hovered around 51-54% (which sucks really) in 2005 in college hoops, I am going to start a new record. We all cannot be Spangs who is hitting around 80%. Just makes keeping record easier for me to start fresh and get a new start in 2006.

0-0 YTD in 2006

Northern Illinois -2 (bought 1-point) at Home vs. Miami-OH...I watched NIU a couple times and think they a team that contend. Both teams are top-tie MAC clubs but the home court is enough for me in this one. DeKalb is a tough place to play in both foots and hoops.

Fresno State -1 vs. Iona...I know Iona as the team that knocked Iowa State out of their own tourney. And I also know that Fresno blew out Iowa State in Ames too. Both good teams but again siding with the home team once agaion and the short number.

Here's to 2-0 to start my 2006 college hoops season!!!

Bad 0-2 starte for 2006 and both close losses. Fresno should have been an easy win as they led by a ton at half. NIU/Mia was just a good game that clould have went either way.

Will be back later with Wednesdays if I see anything.

I think Purdue is a good early Big 10 go against. Going to take a look at NWestern at home tonight.

Florida State +5 (bought 1/2 point) at Clemson...Just seems like too many points to me. See a close game.

UNLV pk at Wyoming...No real reason, just think they are the better team here.

Good Luck. Nothing else really sticks out to me. Looked at NW but want to see how it plays out tonight on their offensive end.

ILLINOIS -6.5 vs MSU (ILL by 8)

Villanova -2.5 vs Louisville

Now this one I cant believe the line...My numbers
have Nova by 8 .....It has got to be that Nova is really
untested so far and the cards are really tough at home
I think Louisville is slightly over rated (god I hate that term)
at this point...... Got to stay with nova on this game

Whisky -4.5 vs Iowa......I am taking the points and the
hawkees here....my numbers show whisky by 1.....
Love Iowa's Defense.....Laying with the Hawks for
the first time all year....

AZ -9.0 vs UCLA seems like a little to many points
I have AZ by 5.....Will lay with the road tested bruins
in this game....


And of course we have Hawaii at home vs Nevada....
I have not looked at this game, but if memory serves me
its always hard to play in Hawaii, just ask Michigan State...
Going to play the rainbows.....

Witchy State -1 (bought 1/2) vs. UNI...Both good teams but Shockers are at home and that will make the difference.

Virginia Commonwealth +7 at George Mason...Just see value in this many points vs, 2 pretty even teams.

2-5 YTD in 2006. 1-2 yesterday. Missing the boat lately. Cap some games that don't make it as my plays but win those and lose the one I play. Just in midst of a bad streak. Will snap out of it soon, I hope.

Still trying to get a read on Iowa for you Carpet. Kind of lost track of them during the bowl season and Holidays. Will zero in on them now that the BIG 10 has started.

Passing Friday on the 2 crappy games. Nice run for you guys, may just tail you for a while as I try to get back on track.

Michigan State +4 at Wiscy...Wiscy looked solid vs. Iowa the other day but MSU is not Iowa. Badgers are tough at home but see a dog-fight here and a SU MSU win on the road!

Ohio U -10 vs. Ball State...Ohio Rolls to keep undefeated home record. Played thsi earlier but line is 11 now.
