Thursday/Friday NCAA tourney

3-2 on the night as the Duke collapse caught us all off-guard. Duke looked like the superior team in the 1H, except for Derrick Williams of course. But what happened in that 2H? Duke got creamed on the boards. Their frontline finally hurt them big time.

My Butler 2H win got me positive.

Well, that didn't work!!! But It still comes down to pick a winner. I can understand Butler beating Wisc, but I would never have bet on Arizona to upset Duke. On to tomorrow, I can see Kentucky beating OSU maybe 35% out of 100 games. I will have to go with OSU. I actually like VCU to beat Flor St. Flor St seems to fall in line with the other teams that they have beat. Did i mention that Butler sure is on a roll again. I was afraid to bet against them today, I sure will be afraid to bet against them next game, great coaching and motivation going on there. I have to think N Carol is going to blow out Marq. Can somebody please talk me out of betting really big on this game. I see no reason why Marq would even be in the game. And onto the last game, I think Richmond is a very good team, but in the same likes as Duke, I can't see Richmond upsetting Kansas. Can it happen sure, but, given my last posts about the line not coming into play, I am going to take Kansas. So, in summary, unless somebody can give me reason to not bet as much, I am taking NC for 10 units, Kansas for 3 units, OSU for 2 units and VCU for 1 unit.

Duke....Wow. I think the last time I played them was at VT when they got spaked there. I thought they would pull away but that was a pure ass whoppin.

Tonight:

I am leaning Marquette myself. Waiting for it to get to +5 or +5.5. I have watched UNC many times this year and they can be beat. I don't think they will, but it may be a 2-3 point game. Marquette is scrappy and wins the close ones. Don't let this hold much water as my only good call last night was Butler and lost my other 3.

On UK +6 as my favorite play in this round. I think its a 1 point game or OSU rolls again, so I will take the points as a gamble.

Leaning FSU right now probably ML but may be a pass. Interesting move on the total as everyone is talking about D, but its up to 131.5 in some books.

Tough calls tonight.

I really like the way NC plays ball - fast break, run and gun. But I also really like that Marquette team. But NC may have the size on them. I guess a no-play for me.

I think I like KY/OSU under 142. It has been going up though, but fading the line movement has been good lately - at least on sides. Not sure about totals.

I want KY to upset OSU, but I don't think the kids of KY can pull it off. OSU to good and too smart. But I don't like -6 either. Halftime play maybe.

I haven't seem enough of VCU and Richmond to play those. But I did see FSU destroy ND. Will watch those and maybe make a 2H play.

4-3 in games. 6-5 unit-wise.

Well, I ended up with a pretty good day. On top of my other bets, I really liked Santa Clara in the CIT. I don't have to really sweat the first game because even though I only had 1 unit VCU, I used them and Santa Clara in ML parlays with Butler and Kentucky( and Marq, which didn't come in), so I have good money riding on Butler straight up, so I will bet off some on Flor to guarantee myself a win. I had said earlier that I didn't want to have to pick Butler's next game, but if I had to pick I would go with Florida. I bet them all year and should not have gotten off of them with BYU. On that same premise, I have been on UConn for this whole run, so I will not get off now, although Arizona has been suprising and tough. I also like Iona in the early CIT game. So, I have 1 unit on Iona, 3 units on UConn and 2 units on Florida with about 400 riding on Butler straight up. Only 7 games left in the season, plus 2 in the CIT, 3 in the NIT and 2 or 3 in the CBI. Don't forget in the CBI, Oregon and Creighton will play the best of 3. It usually sets up a pretty good money making opputunity. Good luck to all today!!! I lost 2 HT bets by 1/2 pt each today.

I've done well on my 2H unders, but not a so good on my 2H sides. I pride myself on knowing the game and evaluating teams after watching them for a half. But I lost a couple lately that have me shaking my head. I was sure Duke would put AZ away in the 2H! Duke looked much better and AZ only had Derrick Williams. Wow, was that a rude awakening for my bball knowledge. Where did THAT 2H for AZ come from? And yes, the easy unders seemed to have tighten up and a couple went over after going into OT. That's why 2H totals seem too high. Fouling, stopping the clock and the potential of OT.
