Will you put up $50.00 for a "Mock Hilton" contest?

I kinda like the Saturday deadline myself as it will give people a chance to form a consensus and make plays if we turn out to be worth a poo. Sundays are tough and having to sift thru last minute top picks is kind of difficult. But not a deal breaker for me, just a thought for those who want to use our picks to possibly make real plays.

I kinda suck inthe NFL so I am predicting a bottom tier finish for myself but still fun to do either way for $50. I went on about a 7 week losing streak last year in the NFL GOW contest so I am far from good. But I may employ the "play against my plays" capping technique this year where I pick the opposite of what my picks are!

Thanks for the offer, however, not in. I have a hard enough time just selecting 2 out of 3 NFL winners each weekend. Selecting 5 games by Saturday noon, without considering late line moves, QB injuries, weather conditions, and whatever other motivating factors that may come into play IMO is extremely difficult.

More power to you folks who can do it.

And yet that's the drawback of these contests which involve early posting of lines. Contest lines are posted early in the week and guys just wait till the last minute and pick the games that give them the most advantage based on line movement. If a line comes out at -3 and goes to -3.5 or -4 by Sunday at Noon, guys will jump on the earlier posted line of Fav -3. It doesn't always work out for them, but over the course of the season, it will give them an advantage on a few games and can make the difference. If we all just make picks based on line movement advantage from the early posted lines, that's not much of a contest, nor very sporting.

Like woodee, I'd vote for the Saturday deadline, just like the Hilton rules. They probably do that for just that reason - to prevent guys from taking advantage of the late line movement by the Sharps on Sunday.

I guess another main point is helping drive traffic to Bettorsworld for Jeff since he is generous enough to support this and other contests. By having all picks in and a consensus before sunday, he can market it to his list and get more lookers come in here to browse what the BW "sharps" have for the weekend in the contest.
Contests are one thing, but to keepthis place alive and sponsorship coming in, its needs other visitors who frequent the advertisers (besides us degenerates) to keep rolling and have future contest for cash!
From what I have seen, this is the only spot that pays out cold hard cash and not sportsbook free plays with heft roll-overs!
So all other things aside, including getting a better line after moves, the purpose is to get traffic to this site or we would all be talking to our wives about sports and thats no fun!

Maybe we'll change the final selection day and time to Sunday at noon, that should still work. As far as the final date to enter, not sure, maybe Saturday the day before the season starts, again we have time, but I would like a head count.

The only real question I have is "Who's coming in second place?"
