    AYCE-hole, attacking under an alias...

    Obviously you're trying to start a flame war. The exact thing you seem to have a "thing" against me about. I have NO problem answering ANY of your questions to ANYBODY via e-mail only. I will, however, answer the ones that I don't believe will start a pissing contest. Mainly because they pertain to your comments and not others.

    AYCE-hole:
    =============================================I almost wanted to cry for a second, until I read this,

    "When you call you books to make a play and tell them that you want to see their lines at Instanodds, they will probably start updating their lines manually."

    Lou, when you want to make some comparisons with Don Best, please don't forget this point, never. Don Best has never been came in here like a hooker and begging us to ask the books to update their lines so we can get what we have paid for the service.
    =============================================
    Lou:
    First off, people who can read and comprehend KNOW that I only came in here after quite a few questions were asked about my service.
    Secondly, What have you paid me for?
    Thirdly, *every* book on my screen has already agreed to be a part of InstantOdds. That doesn't mean things can't change.
    And lastly, informing the people who have questions regarding my service would hardly constitute as begging the books to be on the feed. Just trying to pass along that if the books know it's worth their EXTRA time and money to do it, they would. Was that another cheap shot or legitimate info?
    ============================================= AYCE-hole
    See you in couple months when you will have your next new "invention".

    The next Roxy?! Think about it.
    =============================================
    Lou:
    Dude,
    You're way behind. Knowing how weak the baseball line is and how strong my baseball line is...with the books watching all day long
    =============================================

    ...are we done yet, AYCE?

        To think that Lou Diamond and his instant odds site are going to revolutionise the sportsbetting world is completely insane. Don Best has been and will continue to be the true pioneer of this industry . And to think that someone can just come along and take over because they are going to offer something for "free" shows a complete disregard and lack of respect for the time and commitment that Don Best has in put to make their Co. what it is today.Does anyone really beleive that instant odds is an original idea ? Do you think that Don Best really has to worry about a grass roots organization taking their buisness. That they would have no vision of the future and direction of the industry that they pioneered. The time may well be here for free odds and such ,if that is the case you will see Don Best lead the pack while others will try to follow and duplicate thier sucess , not the other way around. Lets give credit where credit is due if and when it is deserved..

          Lou,

          after 2 days of "brainstorm", I thought you should have some good answers for my questions, and you just can say "I will only answer via email only".

          Come on, whats the deal? You should be better than this.

          Most people who posted at here with more than 1 year should know what kind of person you are.

          A flame war? Dream on, Lou. You are not ever worth to get my hands dirty.

          Call me whatever you like, a-hole, jerk, mother******, whatever. At least I'm still calling your name straight.

          Playing such stupid name calling game like a kid just exactly what you need, nice going, Lou. The way you are replying and posting in here just telling us what kind of person you are and what kind of idea and service will be coming out from you.

          nuff said...keep up the good work.

          A final word to you, Lou.

          There will be always suckers out there whose using Netzero and have several paid-for-surf ad bars on their screens, while waiting in front of their boots all day long, believing you are the god to help them become a wiseguy and catching the steam betting on baseball.

          Go get them all, Lou.

            What everone needs is a line service that just wants to give the lines. The best lines they can and as many as they can. Thats all. Not get involved in anything except transfering lines from the best books to the players. Be what you are "just a good line service".

            Couldn't Don Best get themselves into legal trouble if these (you can only be on our service) deals are true. I would think so.

              Nickles,
              First off, you a shill for Grand Central.
              After dealing with Grand Central, the best advice I can give is STAY AWAY!!

              Remember "OPERATION DISCONNECT"...the FEDS busting telemarketing con-men ripping off the senior citizens by selling them 50 cents worth of vitimans for $5000 by telling them they've won a new car?

              Peter Jacoby's real name is Gary Hussman. Gary's afraid of using his real name because he was exposed by the tv show Hard Copy as a telemarketing con-man owning a company called Sierra Pacific. His partner is Mike Garganeese. Mike had a vested inerest with his brother in another telemarketing scam Co. called North American. Both companies were shut down by the FEDS.

              Why am I so mad at them?

              They stopped payment on a $5000 check. (I'll be posting it on my site shortly)

              They also agreed to a 1 year video production deal if I moved my studio over to their studio run by their production guy. I moved. After moving, GCS complained that the quality wasn't up to their standards and proceeded to STIFF on the 1 year agreement and supposedly STIFFING their production guy. Their production guy than proceeded to STEAL $10,000 worth of my studio equipment. I sued and won. When trying to collect my equipment, I find the secret service there confiscating all of his, and my equipment. It turns out that Grand Central's production guy was arrested for conterfieting by trying to print money off his computer. It remains to been answered if he was printing the money to pay off GSC's bets or if he needed the money because *HIS* friends at GSC STIFFED him.

              GSC threatened to physically harm me if I exposed their shady business practices. I'll be posting that e-mail to my site shortly also.

              Don't be a fool, players. Go with the books that are respected by the player, not by the ones they pay to keep things hush-hush because the have a vandetta against Lou Diamond.

              I'll gladly provide the proof necessary for entity that wishes to verify this story and/or expose their scamming a little further.

              =============================================
              Lou:
              Forget about "going to". It has already. If it didn't, this post would not exist, Don Best wouldn't be changing his service to free and making the upgrades they had just made so quickly.
              =============================================

              Don Best has been and will continue to be the true pioneer of this industry.
              =============================================
              Don Best has pioneered this industry to where it is today. $500 a month for live odds. $99 for delayed. A true capitalistic case of supply and demand. A classic product of the American dream. Things change.
              =============================================
              nickles:
              And to think that someone can just come along and take over because they are going to offer something for "free" shows a complete disregard and lack of respect for the time and commitment that Don Best has in put to make their Co. what it is today.
              =============================================
              Lou:
              *I* never said anything about taking over the live odds industry. That came from others. A few others. NOBODY will knock off Don Best but Don Best. I only claim to be able to grab a "piece" of the market. If that turns your life upside down...

              As far as respect, I had met with a friend of mine, who is a friend of Dana's, well before all this happened. Part of the meeting was about "if Dana and I can work something out". Out of courtesy and respect, to the shagrins(sp) of my programmers, I had told him I was available to talk. I never heard from Dana.

              Do I respect what Don Best has accomplished? I wouldn't have built Instant Odds without it.
              Why haven't I done this before?
              Like a fool, I thought the player was more interested in a database to help "be the move." I should have known the world has more followers than leaders. My fault. By 2 years this time, live odds will be on MOST ATS sports sites, the sizzle will be gone, and creative ATS database management will rule....JMO
              =============================================
              Nickles:
              Does anyone really beleive that instant odds is an original idea ?
              =============================================
              Live Odds is not original, just like it wasn't when Don Best started. I was on the phone in '86 hammering out live lines for one of the biggest lines services of the time. Jasper was offering live lines when Dana and I were in diapers. The concept of Instant Odds *is* original. If it wasn't, you wouldn't have to be here writing that it isn't.

              =============================================
              Lou:
              Yes. As proven evident by the changes they've made since the InstantOdds announcement.
              =============================================
              Nickles:
              That they would have no vision of the future and direction of the industry that they pioneered.
              =============================================
              Lou:
              No. I'm sure Dana is smart enough to understand the vision. But you need to ask yourself, why didn't he do it before me?
              =============================================
              Nickles:
              The time may well be here for free odds and such ,if that is the case you will see Don Best lead the pack while others will try to follow and duplicate thier sucess , not the other way around.

              Lou:
              Let's think now nick, who just lead the pack of free odds on the net, and who just followed?

              Lou:
              I have PLENTLY of GREAT answers. If you want them here, just ask Jeff to allow me to post my end of these stories without deleting, locking or banning. Thus, allowing everyone to judge for themselves.

              Letting everyone know in advance, some of the questions you've raised will have me answering by implicating an owner and handicapper of this site of wrong-doing. But, even I'm bored with this ****. Move on hop-a-long.

              The deal is you know damn well your little pissing contest won't last an hour before it gets deleted and I get banned while you stay.

              =============================================
              AYCE-hole:
              Call me whatever you like, a-hole, jerk, mother******, whatever. At least I'm still calling your name straight.
              =============================================
              Lou:
              I don't understand how you can expect me to put that gun to your head to make sure you're on InstantOdds all day long if I don't know your name to call straight.
              Based on your comments, one can only assume hole *is* your last name.

              I sure hope you feel better now. I also hope you'll be able survive even with InstantOdds afloat. I'd hate to see another fools life turn to shambles because Lou Diamond attempted to provide for his family through legitimate business ventures.

                I am a first time poster. I have been around the sports betting world for almost two decades. I find this forum both informative and entertaining. I have not posted in the past for several reasons but mainly because I often didn't want to share my knowledge, since I use it to earn.

                My ex-roomate got me involved in sports wagering over 17 years ago. We were both statisically oriented sports fans. We were among the first to employ personal computers in handicapping sports. We first purchased pc jr.'s and later xt's. Since then I have owned at least 15 computers, including half a dozen different laptops. Most of our early analysis involved baseball. We immersed ourselves in Bill James' books. We became Sabermatricians-the society that studies baseball. We were among the first to analyze the effects of: ballparks; umpires; how teams fared against left-handed and right-handed pitchers; temperature; humidity; etc. We were very successful and soon found ourselves finding angles in other sports. It was a financially rewarding and fun partnership, not to say it wasn't a lot of hard work- I can remember getting excited and not sleeping for 36 hours or more when we were on to a new 'discovery'.

                We soon found that the handicapping was only 'half' the job. The other half was finding the best lines. No matter what our advantage in the particular sport or event we could always increase it by having more lines to choose from. We made contacts all over the country to facilitate efficiency. We met a few handicappers that were on 'parallel' paths and exchanged ideas and insights with them and later came to callaborate with them. It was an interesting an intriguing time.

                When the Don Best feed became available, we were among the first customers. We used it for many, many years. It was extremely useful in improving our information and efficiency. Al Corbo, the owner of Don Best was a great guy. His son, Dana, has picked up the ball and carried it even farher than Al could have imagined. Dana deserves much credit for setting the course since Al's death.

                I can see the future and the future is competition. Don Best will not be a monopoly. That would not be good for the players. Players should expect nothing less than a full service, totally free line feed. The offshore sports books are in hot competition for their deposits. They will bend over backwards to get them. Coming in the future are full service sportsbooks that will give you an offshore bank account, debit cards, ecash, one-deposit plays at all member books, etc., etc., etc. Anyone that helps this process evolve is to be thanked by all players.

                If InstantOdds helps this happen or spurs the process, more power to them. If not, it won't matter since there will be others queing up to offer these services in the near future.

                Don Best is a good service, but it will become less and less important to us as the years go by, they simply will not be able to keep pace with the free services that are to come.

                Just my thoughts,

                Bazooka

                        Some productive dialog going on here and I might as well jump in with whats been on my mind for some time, but I kept my Big mouth shut. At the risk of being bashed or punished here goes: I took over the Stardust Dec 1983. We established our posisition as the true line. By true line I simply mean it truley reflected the right #. We put it up with our opinion built in then moved on money. It really was THE line. We did so much business we had to open up with a lottery system to control the bettors.(Like getting a number at the butcher shop when I was a kid). Anyway, I had some ideas & was given Managements blessings to implement them. Some of them were mine and some were others. They were all ahead of their time though. I personally catered to any player. Wise or square I wanted them all. I installed a phone room with free, direct local axcess for my players. They could get other lines or bet other stores, it didnt matter because they were in my store to lay off or take a lead or whatever. We created a money machine. I gave all the information available for our players to use and FOR FREE. Unheard of at the time. Its still there and is called the Sports Handicappers Library as I named it. Here is the point to all this ancient history that doesnt mean squat now. I got this vast source of info from Computer Sports World (CSW). It was a tradeoff and this was the start of this whole mess. I wanted the "Stardust Line" in every media outlet. CSW was partners with Sportsticker who were owned by Dow Jones. They put the "Stardust Line" on over fourteen hundred tickers World wide. FOR FREE. I just wanted the Stardust name out there and WOW, did it ever work. We were featured in Sports Illustrated (three pages about 3 mil if paid for), on 48HRS, Tom brokaw Evening News, Nightwatch, halftime of the Superbowl, FNN, Charlie Rose...you get the point. They came to us and asked for OUR time not our money. All that publicity for free. The bottom line of the entire Stardust property benefited. I wasnt done. I started the added games. Not just to do it but with a plan. I used #s on good basketball programs/conferences in major markets. We were the only source for the #s and we gave them to the news outlets in those formerly obscure markets FOR FREE, they just had to put "courtesy of the Stardust". We also put out a user friendly schedule. Time marches on and a man (now deceased) named Don Bessette started a computerized line service for players. He located across the Strip from the Stardust, opened up a phone account and used our #s on his service. He used to have a man sit in our book and call the changes into him. Then came Don Corbo who bought Don Best and began the building process that goes on as I punch this out. Dana, Andy & Mike Corbo very ably continue their fathers work (Don Corbo passed away). They continue to guide Don Best into these new waters. I hope they can see the same Big Picture I did. If they can they are the favorites...Scotty

                          PS...My mind is working overtime. Two of the biggest names (and bank accounts) in Nevada sportsbetting rode the Stardust to glory. They both are widley acclaimed. One of them is my friend and payed me the ultimate compliment by thanking me while the other wouldnt give me a job as I came to him with my hat in hand not long ago. Its not over yet though. Any guesses?...Scotty

Today we'd like to welcome Post-Time to InstantOdds.com. As you can see, we are bringing the cream of the crop to InstantOdds. We will gladly put *your* book on InstantOdds. Just let them know you want it.

To make this list they have to use their own money and last for at least a decade or two. Then come a whole group who churned a lot of $$$ but werent that sharp. I'm # 147 on a third list...Scotty
