      John,
Bill Gates is a communist! The net has
been a great asset for players. More
      information readily available, makes
for a smarter player, which equates to
      a wealthier player.

JDM/I don't agree with the communist part, but the sportsbank babe is right on the money. Info makes us 'luckier'.

          SportsBank,
The Internet kills players one by one. It encourages very stupid behavior like betting off of a credit card and paying ridiculous cash advance fees. It also is available 24/7 which adds up to losing more money. I know all who post here like to act like winners but the truth is 99.82% of players who play more than 5 times a week are losers. The internet also encourages cheating and fraud. What the internet does do is give people a lot of information that most people can't sort out anyway. Just my opinion. One more thing, most operators have low limits on the net. What does that do? It makes people bet more games.

            Misty,

The most important thing to me is being able to make bets. I have bet for over 20 years and feel no need to open a book as I can make money betting. That's why I moved to Las Vegas..... To bet, Not to TAKE BETS!

Also I don't like the direction the industry is going. It's becoming a JOKE! Why?

I WOULD NEVER TAKE BETS OVER THE INTERNET! I have had problems in the past with people because I don't agree with it. It's also the industrys #1 problem. Without the internet most of the books would NEVER have had any problems! NOW it is a problem for us all! Because it is not wanted by our goverment and until it is we shouldn't be doing it! But the off-shores will keep on taking bets over the internet.

            Misty,

I HOPE IT BECOMES LEGAL!!!!!! But for now it isn't. You want me to open a book and be forced to take bets on the internet? Not me and not my Name. No thanks!

I CAN NOT BELIEVE THESE BOOKS WILL LET PLAYERS LAY -105 or less! Why would you ever get into this business and give away YOUR PROFIT! Just to get business. Risking everything just to get customers!

That's all they are, because if they had customers they would NEVER give away their profit! But if you have NO customers what's the difference? THAT'S WHAT YOUR COMPETING WITH!

Now you have a Book that says you can lay -7 and take +7'... If this book stays open you will see others do this..... What a pain in the ***. It's 7-11 stuff!

Why would I risk MY MONEY in this 7-11 type industry. It doesn't matter if you are the greatest person/bookie in the world, unless you advertise that you are the BIGGEST or YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT PAYS you will get eaten up by these SCUM 7-11 books.

If you don't throw tons of money into advertisments all these balony books will take all the customers.

It's getting as bad as the TOUTS!

No these new so-called Bookies s***.

              Misty,

I also would like to think I have more guts than 99% per cent of the people that ever made a bet. Have you ever bet 20,000 dollars on a game when all you had was 22,000 dollars to your name?

I was doubling up week after week with 2 team teasers in football after starting with 500 dollars.

              THAT TAKES GUTS my friend........

              Listen it's just an opinion...

That takes guts for sure. Can't speak from experience.....but it's gotta be ulcer city as well. Did you watch the two games in your teaser? I would have to find out all at once. Just could not watch.

                  WHAT TAKES GUTS?

A famous well respected pro gambler bet 1mil on a college bowl game 10+ years ago. He squeaked out a win and has never looked back. Oh, by the way, it was on credit and he did't have gas money if he lost! Ethical? NO. He told the story.

Rubbish. Makes it a lot easier to get information, and one hell of a lot cheaper to do so.

                      JD,
To say the internet provides a lot of
info that most people can't sort anyway,
insults the players. The net provides a wealth of information that even the most simple-minded person could decipher if
                      they took the time.

I'll agree though it encourages betting
off credit cards, and makes fraud easier.

Love it or hate it, the net and sportsbetting are here to stay......it's a growing industry that will have many twists and turns along the way, but those that aren't willing to accpet the net and adapt, will be left in the dust........just my opinion!

                          Southsider,

NO! I will not watch any game that I have bet more than 100 dollars.

That's why I make 10 and 20 dollar parlays. So I can have fun with those plays. Until the 3 or 4 team parlay get close to winning, then I get all worked up again!

I just really don't like to lose anything at all............ But that's good.

I do not bet sports FOR FUN! I do not gamble in Casinos either. I don't believe very many people bet JUST FOR FUN like most of these clowns who run books like to claim.

We are here for the recreational player.... What a line of s***!!!!!!

Now i have heard it all, A user has called possibly the greatest capitalist of our time (Bill Gates) a communist.

Oh yeah, and Bill Gates (contrary to popular opinion) did not invent the internet...

Next I am getting "computer" advice by someone who can't even spell it...

What i see in this thread is "Doggie Style" a tout who is scared of the internet (presumably b/c people are disseminating the fact that he is not a winner) and thus costing him his business.

And a bunch of Offshore bookies who are blaming the "two guys from Iowa" on the reliability of their business.

                            IMO

there is no way anything compares to WSEX's software. Olympic is close but other than that nothing compares. Oasis is laughable, Carib is but not as good.

Oh yeah and don't tell me that the stuff Grand Central is using is identical to Olympic's it may be the same on the backend, but to the user there is no comparison. Olympic wins hands down...

Bottom Line, the next new book that I am made aware of that has created Unique AND GOOD software that also makes a concerted effort to insure that its users can get a bet down at the right time will get a serious consideration for my business.

Bottom line the problem isn't that everyone is using the same old software, its that everyone is using the same old JUNKY software, i would take a million WSEX's (as long as they had different lines) Over a bunch of different sportsbooks with uniquely JUNKY software......

                            Best of Luck to all...

-- Yeah, you can blame military intelligence for that one

-- I actually find this a bit annoying to find what I want on - Megasports has the same minimilist style, is faster, and navigation more straightforward. Canbet's is good on all fronts, easy navigation, minimilast and fast and you can place multiple bets at once, which is very handy.
                              Olympic's is pretty good too.

                                AV2,
I would be willing to bet you that Oasis is probably in the top three internet sports books in the world. What is so laughable about their site? Last I heard they had 4 thousand customers on the net alone and a 85% return rate. Their customer service is great. I have never heard one single complaint about them. I'd like to know.
