  • OLYMPIC ... problem with payouts?

I assume this is only a small problem, but...

Ok, I requested a payout last Monday (10/9) for $2100. It was a credit on my card. In the past, my payouts have always hit my bank by Thursday, maybe Friday at the latest (assuming a Monday request). It is going on Monday, and no news, so I called them. The guy told me that they were emailed last week and told that the withdrawals requests would take longer than normal. I asked how much longer, but he couldn't answer that. A day? A week? A month? He still had no idea. Now I understand they ask that we give them something like 5-7 business days or so, but if this is going to drag on for much longer than that, I am a bit worried about it. I need this money soon. Should I be worried?

I also deposited more before this weekend, and now I want to make another $2K withdrawal. This also has to go back on my card, but I am afraid to ask until this all gets cleared up.

Spiro, if you read this, do you have any clue as to what happenned or the status of any withdrawals? As for my money now, is there any way to get a western union or something quick for my current $2100 instead of waiting for the card situation to clear up and then waiting another who knows how long for the credit?

Now I don't want this message to send up red flags everywhere. Other than this situation, I am very happy with the customer service, payouts, lines, and anything else associated with Olympic. They have the best props (I can't stay away) and great updated lines. They also have incredibly fast grading on games, halftime lines before the half even ends usually, and lots more.

I have used at least 5 other books and this is still my book of choice. I just want to make sure things get expedited and this seemd the forum for it.

    Thanks.

Requested a payout from Olympic last Thursday and got it Friday. Likely a problem with the credit card company.

Bromley, rest assured you'll get paid ("sweat the game, not the payout"). This place is solid.

I believe credit card refunds are somewhat out of the hands of the sportsbooks, and at the mercy of the processing banks. I recently had a refund (from another sportsbook) take 10 days to show up. They are a convenient but slow way to get paid.

I don't know all the details to your situation but I will say that Olympic is Top Notch bar none! Spiro is one of a kind. He handles his clients as individuals no matter how much $$ they post up with. Be patient..curious as to what the reasoning was on why they were emailed saying it was going to take longer this time though.

            Hi Bromley,

We have been informed by EPaymentSolutions (our processor) that refunds going back to credit cards that were charged before Oct 2nd is being handled manually at the moment, and to expect some delay. We are expecting no more than a 1 to 2 week delay on the outside. A usual refund will take 3-10 business days depending on the bank. Once the credit has been processed by us, we no longer have the money.

We are doing all we can to stay on top of this situation and make sure our customers are taken care of as soon as possible.

If you need any further information, please feel free to call us.

            Mike

Agree with the rest, Olympic is the best!

You will be paid but credit card redemptions always vary, just need to be patient. Olympic has been very fast for me (less than a week) compared to 3 weeks for another out.

Fed Express payment is extremely reliable but I understand that was not an option in your case.

Be patient,Olympic is the BEST. I enjoy the way they have half time lines up before the half is over.

What Olympic is saying is true. E-payments suck. Several outlets are in turmoil because of this. I wish someone would list the E-payments phone number here. That way we could all call them.

                    Ok, several things.

First, I appreciate that Olympic keeps a watchful eye on this board for any concerns from its customers. As many here have attested, this outfit is top notch class.

I never had a doubt IF I would get my money. I am just concerned WHEN. I can understand that this is out of Olympic's hands, but when rent comes due end of this month, and my money is still in limbo, I won't be as happy. But I understand that Olympic will do anything they can.

That leads me to several questions. Perhaps this might help others (and myself) to understand how this works a bit better.

                    1. Your rules state that if you use a credit card for a deposit, you must get a refund the same way. But what if I make two deposits of $1000 each, and when I get down to $1500, I want to withdrawal. Can I only get $1000 until I make up the rest or what? My understanding is that you can only get refunded the exact amounts you deposited.

                    2. That leads to my next question. Mike, you mentioned in your last post here that any deposit made BEFORE October 2nd required "manual" processing, and would be delayed. But my situation is a bit different.

For example... (these dates and amounts are not exact but should give you the idea)

On September 30, I made a c/c deposit of $1000, lost it, and made another c/c deposit of $600 and lost it as well.

                    On October 7th, I made a c/c deposit of $1100 and then another c/c for $400.

I turned that money into $2100 and wanted a withdrawal. Since I was told I could only refund to a c/c the exact amounts deposited, I had to take the $1100 and $400 deposits from 10/7 and the older deposit of $600 from 9/30. This equaled $2100. But, and here comes my question, two of the deposits being refunded were AFTER the October 2nd date you mentioned above. Does that mean those two refunds will immediately go through, or will the September deposit refund slow the whole thing since they were done together?

                    3. I now have about $2500 again and I want to make another withdrawal. I am afraid to tie up my money, especially since to get to that amount, I need to use c/c deposits made from September and older. I called and talked to an operator this afternoon and was told I could probably get a fed-ex or western union amount for this withdrawal, despite it being against policy, only because I had so much money already tied up. I asked twice to be sure, and she said I could. I am still leary about her answer, only because it goes against company policy, and I just wanted to hear it from the top, so to speak.

On a side note, Olympic's customer service is very good. They were actually sympathetic and made sure I got any available information and my questions were answered. So much better than someone who you can barely hear, barely understand, and who could care less if they help you.

I did try to call Mike this afternoon for some clarification, but he was not "in the compound" and I was asked to call back in 15 minutes. I never had the chance.

I am going to call now and see what the deal is, but any questions answered here is appreciative.

                    Thanks.

Ahhh. I can't seem get through. Worse thing is that I was JUST on the line with an operator. As soon as I hung up, I saw your message.

                          I will keep trying.

                            ...and finally the outcome.

I just spoke with Spiro. Talk about a fast turn around with customer service. The man is a down to earth guy who cares about his business and his customers. He made sure I was taken care of. Although against their policy, he arranged my payout via Western Union to be here tomorrow.

As for last week's payout, I am hopeful it will be taken care of soon. No betting this weekend without that money, but I can stand to take a weekend off. My wife will appreciate it anyway.

                            One last thought.

It is very refreshing to have customer service with common sense. A lot of places have rules that are enforced regardless of common sense or situation. Hey, rules are rules, right? No.

The places like Olympic that actually THINK and react to customers needs will always get my business -and should get yours as well.
