Tourney Betting Trends Plus Contest - From Sportsbetting.com - A few big dogs attracted early attention, as SPORTSBETTING.com reported action on Ohio, who are currently a 13.5-point underdog vs. Georgetown (Ohio has 61% of the volume in that matchup), and on Robert Morris, who are 18-point dogs vs. Villanova. Early money came in on Robert Morris right away, driving the line down to 18. The split is sitting at 64% on the big dog so far in that one.

Big Dance - East Region Preview - March Madness has finally arrived and Bettorsworld.com is here to help you fill out your bracket and make your bets for the Final Four and National Championship. Many think the team to beat in the East Region of the NCAA Tournament is the #1 seed Kentucky Wildcats. Others like the #2 seed Big East Tournament winner West Virginia.

NCAA Tourney - South Region - Arkansas-Pinebluff earned the right to get slaughtered by Duke in the first round by defeating Winthrop in the play in game. Many fans and pundits are scratching their heads at the easy route given to the #1 seed Duke Blue Devils in the South Region. They have to deal with a Villanova team in the #2 seed.

March 16, 2010

NCAA Tornament Preview - West Region - The West Region of the NCAA Tournament has many good teams. The #1 seed is Syracuse. The Orange are considered by many to be the best in the land. Kansas State has the #2 seed after falling to Kansas in the Big 12 Championship game. Other tough teams include Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, Butler, Xavier, Minnesota, UTEP, Minnesota, and Murray State. This is arguable the deepest region of the Tournament. Who will emerge victorious? Let’s take a look.

Midwest Region Preview and Picks - The NCAA Tournament is finally upon us. March Madness will ensue on Thursday. This year’s tournament is extremely balanced and there doesn’t exist a juggernaut that is seemingly unbeatable as was the case in many years past. The distribution of the coveted 1 seeds was controversial, and many felt that Ohio State and West Virginia deserved a top seed over Duke.

March Madness Picks - Next Week! - Be sure to check in early next week - we'll break down the brackets and offer some picks for all the action Thursday and Friday. So whether you're betting the games or just playing in your office pool you'll want to check in with Bettorsworld first!!

NBA Stretch Drive - With less than 20 games left in the 2009/10 NBA season, the Cleveland Cavaliers are amongst the favorites to take the Eastern Conference championship and the NBA title. Cleveland not only owns the best record in the conference, but also in the NBA (50-15). Online sportsbooks currently have them listed at -125 to represent the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals and they are +200 to win the championship but they are looking a little banged up.

March 10, 2010

ACC Conference Tournament Preview - Odds - predictions - The Atlantic Coast Conference is a perennial leader in college basketball. With powerhouses like the Duke Blue Devils, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Maryland Terrapins among their ranks it is no wonder. Since the year 2000 the winner of the NCAA Tournament has come from the ACC four times. They have produced eight final four teams in the same span. The conference is not to be taken lightly.

PAC 10 Tournament Preview - It's a Wide Open Field - The Pacific 10 Conference Tournament is wide open. I mean it; it’s very wide open. If the conference was a pair of pants it would need a very large belt. Jokes aside, the PAC 10 is weak this year. The main powers of the conference are California, Arizona State, and Washington. California won the league’s regular season title even though it lost 5 games in conference.

SEC Tournament Preview - The Southeastern Conference isn’t just for football schools. The SEC is very strong in basketball this year and several teams have a shot at getting a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Kentucky and Tennessee are highly thought of and will be rewarded with a high seed. Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Florida are all strong teams

March 9, 2010

Big 12 Basketball Conference Tournament Preview - The Big 12 Conference is unusually strong in basketball this year. They have two teams vying for a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and seven teams with at least 20 wins. Two teams from the conference were ranked #1 at one point in 2010, and a third was a member of the Top 5. The Big 12 Tournament will have large ramifications on the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

WAC Tournament Preview - The Western Athletic Conference Tournament will allow one of nine teams to gain automatic entry to the NCAA Tournament. Hawaii has the most championships among active WAC members at 3. Last year’s tournament was won by Utah State for the first time. The Aggies look poised for another victory this year as the top seed.

C-USA Tournament Preview Predictions Odds - For the last several years Conference USA has consisted of Memphis and then 11 other teams, but for the first time in a while Memphis did not win the Conference regular season title. That honor went to a UTEP team that finished the year 24-5 (15-1). It looks like this conference is in a position to get multiple teams into the Big Dance which is something they have not been accustomed to over the past several years.

March 8, 2010

Big East Tournament Preview - Current Odds - There is little to discuss when you talk about the best conference in College Basketball in the 2009-2010 season. The Big East is very good from top to bottom, which they have showed all season long with teams like Syracuse, Villanova, and West Virginia, which should make for the most competitive conference tournament in the NCAA.

Big 10 Tournament Preview and Picks - The Big 10 conference is undergoing a sports renaissance. They were great in Bowl games during college football, and they looked stacked for the rapidly arriving NCAA Tournament of college basketball. The Big 10 Tournament should give us an idea of where the best teams in the conference stack up before the Big Dance.

March 5, 2010

Sun Belt Conference Basketball Tournament Preview - It’s the month of March which means March Madness is finally upon us, but before we get to the NCAA Tournament we must crown a champion in each conference, and this Sun Belt Tournament should prove to be one of the most competitive conference championships out there. Three teams were tied at the end of the year for the regular season title which just shows you how competitive this tournament should be.

Oscars Odds - Bet on the Academy Awards - James Cameron may be dreaming of another king of the world speech at the Academy Awards this Sunday, but the Avatar director faces being usurped from the throne – by his ex-wife.

March 4, 2010

West Coast Conference Tournament - Current Odds and Preview - There have been two consistent events throughout the last decade in college basketball. The month of March is when College Basketball really starts to show its Madness, and Gonzaga is once again the regular season West Coast Conference Champs. Gonzaga just finished off their 10th consecutive WCC regular season title, and now have their sights set on winning the Conference Tournament to build up momentum for the NCAA Tournament.

March 3, 2010

MAAC Tournament Preview - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s Basketball Tournament may not rank with the ACC Tournament or Big East Tournament as “must see” television, but it is very important. The winner of the tournament will have a coveted bid to the Big Dance. Several teams are in with a shot. The most likely winners include Siena, Fairfield, Iona, St. Peters, Rider, and Niagara.

March 1, 2010

2010 MLB Futures Wagers - The New York Yankees are perennial favorites to capture the American League pennant and after winning the World Series last season, it’s no surprise that they are once again favored to capture the pennant again in 2010. However, the Yanks will have a big distraction this season. As it stands, star shortstop Derek Jeter is going into the final year of his deal with the Pinstripes and you can bet it will continue to be a distraction until the situation is resolved.

February 27, 2010

Villanova at Syracuse - The best game of the weekend pits Big East heavyweights Villanova against Syracuse. Both teams are in the top 10 and have a very good chance to make some noise in the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Villanova started the year 20-1, but has since lost 3 of their last 6 bring their overall record to 23-4. They were last seen beating up on an overmatched but South Florida team. Syracuse is rolling through the Big East with a record of 26-2 behind the guidance of the legendary Jim Boeheim.

Kentucky at Tennessee - Fans of the Kentucky Wildcats are some of the most intense in all of sports. Nothing less than a win is acceptable. The past few years have been rough for the program, but Coach Calipari has restored them to their former glory thus far in 2010. His team boasts a record of 26-1 and a national ranking of #2. They will play the Tennessee Volunteers for the second time this year at 12 PM EST on CBS.

Kansas at Oklahoma State - The Kansas Jayhawks are the #1 team in the country. Being the best has its perks, but it also has its downfalls. They are going to get every team’s best game as they will find out Saturday at 4 PM EST when they will take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys on CBS. The last tough game that Kansas played was against Texas A&M, but they could find themselves in a tussle with a tough Cowboys squad.

Texas at Texas AM - It’s been a long fall for the Texas Longhorns who were #1 in the country and 17-0 at one point in this season. Their last victory as an undefeated team came against Texas A&M who they will play again this Saturday at 2 PM EST on ESPN. The Longhorns dropped 6 of their next 9 after beating Texas A&M in OT. They are currently on a two game win streak.

College Hoops Scratch Sheet for Wednesday - Often times, with these big cards, there just isn't enough time to pump out a write up on one of the games. Such is the case today with a good sized Wednesday card. So, we thought some of you might find it interesting if we posted our scratch sheet.

Virginia at Miami - Using Schedule Strength to Handicap Hoops - One of the things we like to do with these articles is give you a little insight into the way we approach basketball handicapping. One of the things you see us refer to in these articles is schedule strength. While this game we are going to look at today is not an official play (we'll explain why) it is a great example of the role of schedule strength in college hoops handicapping.

February 22, 2010

UCONN on the Bubble Hosting West Virginia - Perhaps no conference in the nation illustrates the rigors of college hoops better than the Big East. Within that conference, perhaps no team illustrates just how thin the margin is between success and failure, than the UCONN Huskies. In the Big East, there are 16 teams. More than half of those teams can play with any team in the Nation.

Horse Racing Picks - Saturday - College hoops is in full swing but right on the horizon is the Kentucky Derby and all the prep races that go along with it. Our horse racing expert takes a look at some Saturday races to wet your appetite. Have a look.

Hoops Picks for Friday - Harvard and William Mary were close to being official plays on the oddswiz service but it's a pass. Mark them down as opinions only.

February 18, 2010

Wisconsin at Minnesota - a no brainer - Wisconsin is on the road tonight to take on Minnesota and you have to like this spot for the Badgers. Wisconsin lost their high scorer, 6 foot 10 Jon Leuer 9 games ago yet still managed to go 6-3 without him and maintained their position as one of the top teams in the country and still remains in the hunt for the Big 10 title as we head down the stretch, with a favorable schedule to boot.
