The Kansas City Chiefs were dominant against the young and talented Raiders. The Chiefs really asserted their dominaNCe in the second half. Amari Cooper pretty much did whatever he wanted to against the Chiefs secondary in the first half. However, in the second half, Cooper was basically quiet.
The Chiefs controlled the second half with the way the Chiefs like to play football. They ran the ball and forced turnovers. SpeNCer Ware had a career-high 131 yards rushing with a score.
Alex Smith put on an Alex Smith type of performance by being safe and conservative with the ball, but still taking opportunities to push the ball down the field as they arose. The Chiefs will need to find a way to get their pass rush back on track, but a dominant win against the Raiders will put teams on notice that the Chiefs are still a legitimate contender for the Super Bowl.
What a wild Game the New Orleans Saints played against the Carolina Panthers. As it relates to the Game in its entirety, oNCe again the Saints defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed, but their offense bailed them out in the end. That’s not to discredit the Saints defense for holding the Panthers’ offense in check in the first half, but surrendering 21 points in the Fourth quarter and 28 points overall in the second half is terrible.
Drew Brees was out there doing his thing for the Saints offense. It helped that the Panthers had two rookies in their secondary. Brandin Cooks and Coby Fleener had monster Games for the Saints. With Atlanta’s loss and the Saints’ win, the Saints are right back in the hunt to win the NFC South.
The Chiefs are favored to win this Game. Their secondary is full of studs and they have the talent on the defensive line to make the day a nightmare for Drew Brees. The Chiefs are also very efficient on offense and can slow the Game down by running the ball. But the feeling here is that the Saints offense keeps this one within the spot. Saints +6.5
