CURRENT PREAKNESS STAKES ODDS
2008
The 133rd running of the Preakness Stakes is upon us and post positions have been drawn. Bettorsworld will keep you posted with current and up to date odds for the Preakness right up until post time. Big Brown is the current odds on betting favorite and will remain so until race time. So the focus among handicappers will be on the rest of the field, of which many believe, are competing for 2nd place. Check out our official 2008 Preakness Picks and analysis
All major Sportsbooks have posted their current Preakness Odds so be sure to shop around to get the best price. The beauty if being able to bet the Preakness at the offshore sportsbooks is that you can lock in your price, unlike the track where it's a para-mutual system. For example, you can bet Harlem Rocker at 4-1 odds right now. Come post time, he may be 2-1. Be careful though. It can work the other way as well. As a rule of thumb, if you like a longshot, wait until the day of the race and see what the track odds are. You may get better odds at the track in that case.

With the field growing, expect it to be an exciting race. The larger the field, the more potential we have for an upset which would mean a nice payoff. There is plenty of speed in the Preakness, the shortest of the Triple Crown races, so there is always the chance of traffic problems for Big Brown setting up the chance that he wouldn't be able to catch the speed. Should be fun!
