2008 US MASTERS
ODDS The 2008 US Masters
Tournament gets underway April 10th in Augusta as 93 of the worlds
best golfers compete for the coveted Green Jacket. Winners of the
Masters also get automatic invitations to the US Open, the British
Open and the PGA Championship for the next 5 years as well as a
lifetime invitation to the Masters. In 2007, Zach Johnson edged
out Tiger Woods, Retief Goosen, and Rory Sabbatini. Which goes to
show, it's not a forgone conclusion that Tiger Woods will win.
Having said that, Woods is the prohibitive favorite to win the 2008
Masters with odds of 11/10. If you're looking to find some value,
and perhaps make a score, you'll need to look past Tiger Woods. For
example, think Zach Johnson can repeat? If so, you'll be rewarded
with a 60-1 payoff! Phil Mickelson, everyone's most likely 2nd
choice, is listed at odds of 10-1. Canada's Mike Weir who won the
event in 2003 has current odds of 60-1 and Vijay Singh, the winner
in 2000 is listed at odds of 18-1.
