Michigan STATE VS UCONN

5dimes.com Line UCONN -4 O/U 133.5

The UConn Huskies will be the National champs!

A bold statement for a college basketball Game where upsets are very common, but I really think there is no team left in the Tournament that can beat the Huskies right now with the way they are playing.

Hasheem Thabeet is absolutely dominating the paint, he may not be a prime time scorer or an offensive threat like DeJuan Blair, but he a huge defensive force which can totally change the Game plan or offensive scheme for the opponent.

Not only is Thabeet a big problem for opponents, quite literally, but AJ Price has started to come into his own as the leader of UConn. The kid is the total package, he may not be a Derrick Rose type player, but he is definitely a Game changer and a match up nightmare.

These two players have played huge roles in the Huskies success during the regular season and in this Tournament, but it doesn’t stop there as UConn is as deep a team in the country.

With Price and Thabeet alone the Huskies are an elite team, but with Jeff Adrien and Stanley Robinson in the mix as well UConn is as good as it gets in college basketball.

The Big East Conference was without a doubt the toughest and most talented Conference in college basketball this year. A big indication of that is the fact that there are two Big East teams in the Final Four and there were Four teams in the Elite Eight.

The ACC and Big 12 were good conferences this season, but really no match for the Big East in terms of overall talented teams.

The Michigan State Spartans are coming out of a very weak Big Ten conference. In years past the Big Ten has been very competitive, but this year the competition wasn’t all that impressive. Purdue may have gotten to the Sweet 16, but then were put right back in their place as the Huskies just wiped the floor with them.

Few teams in the NCAA Tournament this year have had a tougher Schedule then the Michigan State Spartans. The first round was no problem, but that was expected. The second round they faced a good USC team. In the Sweet 16 they went up against John Calipari’s defending champion Kansas Jayhawks. Once the Spartans ended the Jayhawk repeat hopes they faced their toughest opponent yet in the number seed Louisville Cardinals.

No one really thought that the Spartans could pull off the upset, including me, but Tom Izzo’s boys came in and got the job done in convincing fashion beating Pitino’s team by 12 points.

As of right now the spread is -4 in favor of the Huskies. There is always a good chance of an upset in this Tournament, but this time I think the Spartans will not be able to pull it off. The Four point spread is a gift for avid sports bettors. The Huskies have covered the spread in every single Game so far and I think they will do the same here. UCONN -4
