Texas AM and Arkansas Renew Old Rivalry

This Saturday at the new Cowboy Stadium two old rivals from the old Southwest Conference will renew their rivalry when Arkansas and Texas A&M square off. Arkansas has had a tough season so far. They opened up with an impressive win over an overmatched Missouri State team then they lost a heartbreaking shootout to Georgia before heading to TUSCaloosa, Alabama where they were just overmatched. There was a lot of excitement surrounding this Arkansas team before the season and if they are going to live up to those expectations they have got to get a win here. Texas A&M has started their season with 3 wins over overmatched opponents, but they are going to face their toughest Game of the season this Saturday with Arkansas. This is going to be a fun Game to watch.
ARKANSAS KEY TO VICTORY
It is no secret what Arkansas strength is. Their offense led by QB Ryan Mallet is one of the best in the country. They can score from anywhere on the field and are very tough to stop. Their weakness has been their defense especially their secondary, and as important as this offense is going to be in this Game they are going to have to stop a Texas A&M offense that is also very good. In the Georgia Game the Razorback defense was just plain terrible, but they showed real improvement in the Alabama Game especially in stopping the run. Take out the long run by RB Trent Richardson that should have been stopped for a loss, and Arkansas held a very good Alabama rushing attack to around 2 yards per carry, and while the secondary still GAve up some big plays they did play better. If this defense is able to get some big stops early and allow this Arkansas offense good field position so they can get an early lead and it could be over early. Arkansas is a team to keep your eye on. They arent quite there yet, but will be Top 25 caliber by next year. They will need to come up with stops against the Aggies to keep their hopes of winning the Game alive.
TEXAS A&MS KEY TO VICTORY
Texas A&M ranks 1st in the whole country in total offense averaging 574 yards per Game, but that was against New Mexico, Utah State, and UAB. We will find out exactly what this Texas A&M offense is really about this Saturday. Much like with Arkansas we know Texas A&Ms offense can put up a lot of points, but unless they are able to stop this Arkansas offense its going to be tough to outScore this Arkansas attack. In their 38-30 win over Utah State they GAve up 521 yards to the Utah State offense. That is not good news for this Texas A&M team. They have got to get some big stops on defense to take the pressure of their offense to Scoreevery time they get the ball. The Arkansas defense has been hot and cold this year and there is no reason to expect the Aggies wont be able to get points on the board.
If you like defense this is probably not the Game for you. This is going to be a shootout between two of the best offenses in the country. The differeNCe in this Game is going to be which defense is able to get the big stop when they need it. Arkansas defense played a lot better than the 35-7 Scoreagainst Alabama suggests, and I believe they will be the better defense come Saturday and will allow Ryan Mallet and this powerful offense to get an early lead and will be able to hold off the Texas A&M offense.
