Alabama Football Betting Preview Predictions and Schedule 2011

A 1 point loss to Auburn cost Alabama a shot at a 2nd consecutive National Title. They then went out and plastered Michigan State in the Capital One Bowl, 49-7. Alabama loses QB McElroy and RB Mark Ingram, which will hurt, but they bring back 7 starters on each side of the ball, and let’s face it, this is Alabama, they are oNCe again loaded with talent.

Not only are they loaded, but the Schedule looks to work out in their favor. It’s not all that tough of a daNCe card. They get Arkansas and LSU at home and travel to Penn State, Florida and Auburn. This is a team intact at several key positions on both sides of the ball that won by an average margin of 35-13 last season!

But from a betting standpoint, it may be best to look for spots to bet against Alabama. Particularly in Games where they plastered an opponent the previous week. For example, Alabama is likely to blow Kent State off the field in their opener on September 3rd. That win will likely create some line value and a spot to go against Alabama when they travel to Penn State the following week. Likewise, when they dismantle North Texas on September 17th, we may get a chance to back Arkansas the following week when they head to TUSCaloosa. The public has a short memory. They tend to put extra emphasis on the previous weeks results.

There are going to be question marks for sure, at QB and on the defensive line, and Bama will have a bulls eye on their backs each time they take the field. But, Nick Saban is 43-11 at Alabama (134-53-1 overall) as he enters his 5th year which means this team is now 100% his doing, and that’s a scary thought as Saban is one of the best college football coaches to come down the pike in years.

It’s never easy in the SEC but look for the Crimson Tide to oNCe again contend for the SEC title and with a break here and there, another run at a BCS Championship is not out of the question.

As far as revenge goes, they’ll have to wait the entire season, but circle November 26th on your calendar. That’s when they are at Auburn with a chance to avenge their only loss of the year, and the loss that kept them from a title shot.
