Boise State vs. Toledo College Football Preview with Prediction

In case Our readers haven’t noticed, we’re not big Boise State fans here at Bettorsworld. It’s not that we don’t respect them and coach Chris Petersen. It’s all the ACColades they get despite the fact they have a cup cake Schedule year after year. Granted, they step up to the plate, like they did in week 1 by knocking off Georgia. But the question remains, would they be so spectacular if they played Georgia one week, South Carolina the next and LSU the week after? The answer is no way.

So be it. Here in this spot, they figure to get back senior safety Cedric Febis, sophomore receiver Geraldo Boldewijn and sophomore defensive tackle Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe, the kids from Amsterdam. All were not able to play against Georgia. They travel to Toledo to take on the Rockets, a team they beat last year to the tune of 57-14.
Boise State opened as a 17 to 17.5 point road favorite here, a line that is being kept down due to Toledo hanging with Ohio State last week, losing by just 5, 27-22. An accomplishment to be sure, but not an overwhelming shock. Who could blame Ohio State if they were looking ahead to Miami Fla this week not to mention a Big 10 slate on the horizon. These things happen all the time. (the line is now as high as -19.5)
No such look ahead issue for Boise. They don’t play an opponent worth looking ahead to for several weeks. Sorry, couldn’t resist that one. But hey, the bottom line here is that the jury is still out on Toledo. They return a ton of starters from last year, 9 on each side of the ball, but this is still a team that played close Games with the likes of Ohio U, Kent St, Ball St and so on. When they stepped up in class they were hammered. Hammered by the likes of Arizona, Boise and Northern Illinois.
The Friday night lights may inspire Toledo, but for us, only one way to look here. Boise State -19
