Ohio vs. Buffalo Football Pick with Analysis
10/8/11
Ohio Bobcats (4-1) visit the Buffalo Bulls (1-3) in this MAC Conference matchup. Ohio has played well this year as their only loss came on the road at Rutgers. Buffalo has had a disappointing year as there only win has come against Stony Brook. To their credit they have lost to 3 BCS Conference teams.
Frank Solich the former Nebraska head coach has built a solid program at Ohio. He looks to have his third straight bowl season and challenge for a Conference title. The Bobcats have been pretty solid on defense this year. A large part of this has to do with the return of all 5 starting offensive linemen. The defense has shown promise especially last week as they held Conference foe Kent State to 10 points in a 17-10 victory.
The Bulls experieNCed some growing pains last year under first year coach Jeff Quinn going 2-10 straight up and 1-10 against the spread last year. Buffalo had had some trouble scoring this year with their largest offensive output being 28 points against ball state. I look for their win total to improve from last year but not this week.
Ohio with a heavy dose of the run will put a solid performance up as they start league play off 2-0. Buffalo will play tough early but the 2nd half will belong to the Bobcats. The key trend in this Game is that Ohio is 5-2 the last 7 against the spread vs. this Buffalo team. Ohio wins 34-20.
