South Florida Bulls

vs.

Memphis Tigers

By Jason Green

11/12/16

South Florida has won 4 of their last 5 Games, but the loss in that span was a costly one. They fell to Temple, who they are tied with atop the AAC East Division and unless they get help they will not be playing in the Conference title Game. While they do not have a great defense ranking 84th in opponents’ points allowed they rank 8th in the nation in rushing yards per Game and 7th in points per Game.

Memphis snapped their 2-Game losing streak with a win in their last Game, but while there is a chance they need a ton of help to advance to the AAC title Game from the West Division. They put up 51 points in their last Game and they have a solid offense and a pretty good defense. The Tigers are 4-1 at home this season and the Bulls are 2-1 on the road.

The road team is 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 Games between these teams.

South Florida got into a shootout with Navy in their last Game winning 52-45 at home and covering the spread as a 6-point favorite.

In their last Game Memphis laid a 51-7 beat down, on the road no less, against SMU easily covering as a 3-point favorite.

In their win over Navy South Florida racked up 629 yards, but they also gave up 616 yards. Duel threat QB Quinton Flowers is the main guy that the Memphis defense has to worry about and in the Navy Game he passed for 219 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT and he also rushed for 176 yards. He leads the Bulls in both passing and rushing yards per Game, but is also joined in the backfield by 2 RB’s that have at least 428 rushing yards.

Memphis did shut down SMU in their last Game holding the Mustangs to only seven points. However, their D has some issues and they only rank 60th in the nation against the pass and 87th against the run.

In their blowout win over SMU Memphis QB Riley Furguson passed for 287 yards with 4 TD and 0 INT and the team also rushed for 160 yards. The Tigers will be facing a USF D that was torched for over 600 yards in the last Game and ranks 88th in the nation against the pass and only 105th against the run.

USF is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road Games, 13-5-1 ATS in their last 19 Games overall, and in their last 6 Games, the posted total has gone Over 5 times.

Memphis is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Conference Games, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Games overall, and in their last 7 Games, the posted total has gone Over 5 times.
