NFL Weekly Look Ahead – Week 6
By: Jordan Adams

Both coming off big home wins, Philadelphia and New Orleans come into week six’s match-up at 4-1. The Eagles held off a late rally by Dallas while Reggie Bush had the Game-winning touchdown in the Fourth quarter, his first pro score. Bush brought back a punt to the house with about Four minutes left in the Game and his team down 21-17 over Tampa Bay. Bush’s touchdown continued New Orleans magical season and kept them perfect at home in the Superdome.

For Philly, Donovan McNabb continues to be spectacular and has been the league’s best player over the first five Games of the year. All he has done is throw for over 1600 yards with 11 touchdowns to just one interception. The Saints will counter will their signal caller Drew Brees. In his first season in the Big Easy he has been successful thus far. He has effectively controlled the ball and helped to lead the offense that is very talented across the board.

Without a doubt this will be the Saints’ toughest test thus far in ’06, but they do host this Game in the Superdome and that will have a predominant effect in the outcome of this Game.

Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints 10/15 1:00 pm (FOX)

Line: Philadelphia -3 _
Total: 46

Philly has controlled this series and rightfully so because the Saints have not been very good the past decade. The Eagles have won eight of the last ten Games since 1987. Philly is 6-4 ATS in those Games.

Both come in with equal records against the number, 4-1. Philly has the scoring edge, averaging 31 points per Game while New Orleans is putting up 23.6. Similarly, Philly is giving up 19 per Game and the Saints just 17. The Eagles are 3-2 with the totals while New Orleans is 2-3.

The Eagles have struggled against winning teams, posting a 2-6 ATS in their last eight against a team with a winning record.

New Orleans is 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 vs. the NFC.

Philadelphia is 3-0 ATS in their last three overall and against the NFC as well. They are 4-1 ATS in their last five as the favorite and are 36-16 against the number in their last 52 following a SU win.

The Saints too are playing well ATS, going 4-1 in their last five. Coming in as the dog, they are 3-0 in as many Games as the underdog.
