SUPER BOWL FUTURES ODDS 2009
By Ryan Patterson
I am from Cincinnati, and we have a saying around here for Our local NFL team. Who dey think gonna to beat them Bengals?! Well unfortunately, just about everybody in the past couple of years. I think my fellow Cincinnatians may have some hope this year. Marvin Lewis drafted Linebacker Keith Rivers in the first round to help his defense which is desperate to stop the run. With Chad Johnson no longer creating problems things may be coming together for the Bengals. Their odds would lead you to believe otherwise. The Cincinnati Bengals have been tabbed at 60-1 to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history. I am a realistic guy, and with teams like the Indianapolis Colts, and New England Patriots in the AFC, its a long shot that my Bengals will even make it to the Superbowl. But hey, at 60-1 why wouldnt I throw a few bucks on them, and make watching all the better? You never know what might happen! Future wagers are one of the best in gambling. Lets take a look at some of the best wagers to win the Super Bowl in 2009.
New York Giants (15-1)- The reigning champs arent getting much respect early on. The loss of Michael Strahan to retirement should take a toll on the defense. On the plus side, this bunch proved they were road warriors last year and should continue to be successful when traveling. First round draft pick Kenny Phillips should help them on the defense in his position as Safety. Why not at 15-1?
Green Bay Packers (25-1)- Packers fans are hoping to see new Quarterback Aaron Rodgers perform the Lambeau Leap with the same swagger as the legendary Brett Favre, but perhaps a bit more often. Joking aside, this will probably be a down year for the Packers. Rodgers should need a season to get used to the NFL. However this might not be true, lets not forget Ben Rothlesburger.
New England Patriots (7-2)- Sorry to all the New England fans out there, but I was happy to see this group go down in last years Super Bowl. Dont take it personal, I always cheer for the underdog. With the likes of Tom Brady, Wes Welker, and Randy Moss on the offense they should be a powerhouse yet again. Despite this, I am going to need better odds than 7-2.
Indianapolis Colts (7-1)- With Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison on the offense, these guys are always deadly. They are one of the most prolific combinations in the history of the NFL. If the defense has beefed up, I wouldnt be surprised to see these guys end up in the Super Bowl for the second time in three years.
Dallas Cowboys (6-1)- I wonder if Cowboys fans are still mad at Jessica Simpson? This is a new year, and with it comes another chance to return to the Super Bowl for this historic NFL franchise. Tony Romo will be all the more seasoned and ready to lead. Terrell Owens will be hungrier then ever to finally get that elusive ring. I can see this team getting it done at odds of 6-1
