Nice Monday Night Preseason matchup as Rex Ryan returns home to take on his old team. There are all kinds of preseason handicapping angles and techniques that bettors need to be aware of. Our line-up of handicappers has been nailing everything in site the first two weeks. Big plays GAlore. Check in right here each day to see what Our handicappers have on tap, iNCluding this Monday Night tilt! Now, on to the Game.

Rex Ryan knows the stadium at Baltimore very well. The New York Jet’s head coach worked for the Ravens from 2005-2008 and did an excellent job running the defense. He was one of the most coveted coaches this offseason, and will undoubtedly seek to beat his former team in this Game. Known for his sharp tongue and even sharper defenses, Ryan will certainly “bring it”.

Kellen Clemens and Erik Ainge are likely to share time at QB in this event, but Mark SaNChez will also take a few snaps. Clemens and Ainge are both capable backups, but neither is going to set the world on fire. Troy Smith and John Beck will fight it out for the backup role for the Ravens. FlACCo will see some time, but you can expect to watch him on the sidelines for most of this one.

The Jets looked stellar in their first preseason Game despite losing to the Rams by a score of 23-20. Mark SaNChez was all that everyone hoped he would be, airing the ball out for a 48 yards GAin on his first NFL play. Overall the USC alum completed 3 of 4 passes for a total of 88 yards. Jets fans have every right to be excited about this kid. Ainge had most of the QBing duties for the Jets in that Game, throwing for 148 on 10 of 17 passing. Robinson looked tough at WR, picking up 52 yards on 2 recs.

The Ravens did what you would expect them to do in their first preseason event, shutting out the Redskins 23-0. Joe FlACCo was a solid 9 for 13, picking up 103 yards. McGAhee carried the ball 4 times for a total of 26 yards at RB. The defense held the ‘Skins to 196 total yards and a horrid 9.6% third down conversion rate. It seems safe to say that the defense will do just fine without Rex Ryan at the helm.

Injuries haven’t been kind to the Baltimore Ravens. Ed Reed (S) and Ray Lewis (LB) are both probable, but there is a long list of players who are not. Rolle (CB) is a key player, and is doubtful due to a thigh problem. Todd Heap (TE) is doubtful due to back troubles. Derrick Mason (WR) is having trouble with a knee injury. Terrell Suggs (DE) is questionable with a bad shoulder. Le’Ron McClain (RB) is also doubtful for this Game.

Things aren’t nearly as bad for the Jets injury wise. Jenkins (DT), Harris (LB), Cotchery (WR), are all probable. However, Bryan Thomas (LB) is questionable because of shoulder trouble. Wayne Hunter (T) is also questionable for the same reason. LAck of injuries could be an advantage for the Jets, because the Ravens have several key players that will be seeing limited time.

The Ravens appear to be the better team on paper, but are going to be limited by injuries. They are favored at -3 to win this Game. The Jets probably have more to prove here, especially Ryan since he is facing his old team. The O/U is set to 32.5 and could go either way. I’m leaning toward the under. This Game should be an interesting one to bet and to watch. Tune in on Monday night to see these teams knock heads!
