The Kansas City Chiefs are heading to Indy to take on the Colts in this week 8 match-up. The Chiefs rank in the middle of the pack on offense and defense this year. The Chiefs have won most of their Games with good coaching and a ball controlled offense.
Kansas City has not gotten the most out of their running Game with running back Jamaal Charles still getting ACClimated to the offense after returning from an injury that ended his 2015 season early. Charles did not receive any reps this preseason so look for him to be involved more this weekend, helping running back SpeNCer Ware with the workload. Ware has rushed for 492 yards on 92 carries and 2 touchdowns this season. Kansas City is well coached with Andy Reid.
The offense is very conservative with QB Alex Smith under center, but you can almost guarantee that the Chiefs won’t beat themselves which makes them a very formidable team week in and week out. The Chiefs have a star on defense in Marcus Peters who has 5 interceptions and 9 passes defensed. He will have his hands full with the Colts’ wide receiver TY Hilton.
The Colts Andrew LUck has passed for 14 touchdowns and 2,074 yards less than half way into the season. He is looking to test the Chiefs’ defense with the help of veteran running back Frank Gore, who has 495 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on 117 carries. The ageless wonder Gore, is one of the oldest running backs in the league and is playing like he wants to end his career with a super bowl win. The AFC South is up for grabs this year and the Colts have the chance to get back to .500 with a win against the Chiefs and possibly be tied for the division lead with a Houston loss this weekend.
This Colts have traded wins and losses all year. Look for the Colts to break that trend with a win against the Chiefs. The Game will come down to Andrew LUck getting the ball to his playmakers and avoiding Marcus Peters on defense. Colts +2.5
