Saints
vs.
Giants
Week 2
NFL Pick
9/18/16
The Giants were able to walk away with a 1-point victory over Dallas. It was nice to see Victor Cruz get the opportunity to salsa daNCe again. The Giants’ rookie wide receiver, Sterling Shepard, made some solid plays iNCluding a touchdown catch. Odell Beckham had a good outing as well. He was able to break off a 45-yard reception and showed signs of his usual self. The Giants simply weren’t on the field long enough for him to have multiple opportunities to make big plays. The Cowboys held the ball for the majority of the Game. With that being said, the Giants still walked away with that W.
The Saints were in a wild contest that saw them lose thanks to a successful 2-point conversion attempt by the Raiders at the end of the Game. What a Game!!! As predicted, there wasn’t much defense in that Game and it’s doubtful we’ll see much defense from the Saints for the rest of this season.
What we did see though was Drew Brees is still Drew Brees. The guy can do it all. Wille Snead and Brandin Cooks had 172 and 143 receiving yards respectively. Cooks was aided by a 98-yard touchdown reception. We were shocked to see the under-utilization of Coby Fleener though.Expect that to change within the coming weeks. No disrespect to the aging Benjamin Watson, but if he could put up the numbers he did last year with the Saints, then Coby Fleener could put up some pretty damn good numbers too… Not Jimmy Graham numbers, but still damn good numbers.
Last year these two entertained us with a 52-49 shootout, won by the Saints. Until one of these squads shows some defensive life, no reason not to call for a similar type of a Game. that being the case…Saints +4.5 and OVER 53
