The Arizona Cardinals put a thrashing on the New York Jets. The Jets could not run the ball to save their life which took away from Ryan Fitzpatrick’s ability to throw the ball. It was great to see the matchup between Brandon Marshall and Patrick Peterson. Marshall won the individual matchup, but Peterson won the Game.
Carson Palmer did not have an outstanding performance, but he was able to spread the ball around and avoid taking a sack against arguably the best defensive line in the NFL. David Johnson is and was an absolute stud. He had an amazing 58-yard touchdown run in the Game. He just kept plugging along and ended the Game with 111 yards on 22 carries and 3 touchdowns. Fantasy football players have to be stoked about picking him up and distraught about having to play against him. He even added 3 catches for 27 yards. The Cardinals are back at .500 and with a win against their divisional rivals are on track to compete for the NFC West title oNCe again.
The Seattle Seahawks were most likely gifted a victory against the Atlanta Falcons. Julio Jones’ arm was held as he attempted to make a catch to which would have potentially lead to a Falcons field goal to win the Game. By far, this was Richard Sherman’s worst performance of his NFL career. He was often confused as to what coverage the Seahawks were in and was seen to be quite emotional on the sidelines. Expect Richard Sherman to return to his normal self against the Cardinals.
Maybe it was a byproduct of missing Kam ChaNCellor. Jimmy Graham proved oNCe again that if you give him opportunities he can be one of the best TEs in the league. The guy is too big and too fast for anyone to successfully contain him outside of Russell Wilson not throwing him the ball and the offensive coordinator refusing to call plays for him. When Jimmy Graham is involved and Seattle is running the ball well, the Seahawks are a really tough team to beat.
The Cardinals may have hit their stride. The Seahawks are much more dangerous at home than they are away. Cardinals -2
