Houston Texans

vs.

Indianapolis Colts

Week 14

NFL Pick

12/10/16

The Colts are hot winners of 3 of their last 4 Games and they are tied with Texans and Tennessee Titans for first place in the AFC South. The Colts only loss in their last 4 Games came when Andrew LUck did not play and he is back and had a great last Game where Indy crushed the Jets by 31 points. The defense has been the main issue for Indianapolis this season, ranking 25th in opponents’ points allowed, but they have been better as of late. They look to get back at the Texans, who beat them earlier this season in the Lone Star State 26-23.

While the Colts are hot the Texans are not, as they have dropped 3 straight. Brock Osweiler got big bucks in the off-season to take over under center and he has been decent at best. He has 14 TD and 13 INT and in the last 2 Games he has guided Houston to only 13 points in each. The defense has been pretty good, but the offense ranks 3rd to last in the NFL in ppg.

In their last Game the Texans played in snowy conditions facing the Packers in Green Bay and they lost 21-13 where they did not cover as a 6.5-point underdog.

The Colts laid a 41-10 beat down on the New York Jets in their last Game where they easily covered on the road as a 1-point underdog.

In their last 6 home Games against the Texans the Colts are 4-1-1 ATS.

Andrew LUck did not pass for a ton of yards in the win over the Jets, but he had 4 TD and he was not picked off. His main target of T.Y. Hilton is among the league leaders in receiving yards and RB Frank Gore, who has been up and down this season, had a solid outing against the Jets rushing for 79 yards.

The Houston defense ranks a solid 6th against the pass and only 19th against the run and Gore will have his chances, especially since Houston will be coNCentrating on containing LUck.

While the Houston offense has been pretty weak this season they do have WR DeAndre Hopkins back and RB LAmar Miller, who ranks 8th in the league in rushing yards per Game is healthier after dealing with a rib injury, which almost made him miss the Green Bay Game, where he really struggled. On top of that Osweiler was not bad in the Packers Game not getting picked off and passing for 2 TD. This buNCh will be facing an Indy defense that ranks 28th against the pass and 20th against the run.

Houston is only 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 Games overall, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road Games, and in their last 8 Games after an ATS loss the posted total has gone Under 6 times.

Indianapolis is 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 Games overall, 10-3 ATS in their last 13 Games following a straight up win of more than 14 points, and in their last 5 Games at home the posted total has gone Under 4 times.
