L.A. Chargers (10-3 SU 7-6 ATS) vs. Kansas City Chiefs (11-2 SU 8-4-1 ATS)

First place in the AFC West is on the line in this Game when the Kansas City Chiefs play host to the L.A. Chargers on Thursday night. The Chiefs cliNChed a playoff berth in their OT win over the Ravens in their last Game and they can cliNCh the AFC West with a home win in this Game. Patrick Mahomes pulled off some magic in Kansas City’s last Game and he leads the league in passing yards and TD’s. With the Patriots losing their last Game the Chiefs can really take over the #1 seed in the AFC with a win in this Game.

The Chargers have won three in a row and are right on the heels of the Chiefs. If they get a win they can still battle it out for the AFC West, but even with a loss they are still in a good spot to get a Wild Card. Phillip Rivers is having a big season and he hopes to have his main RB in Melvin Gordan back in this Game, as he missed the last two Games with a knee injury and hopeful for this big division matchup.

The Chiefs are a 3.5-point home favorite with a total of 56.

This season the Chargers are 7-6 ATS with an O/U record of 7-6 and the Chiefs are 8-4-1 ATS with an O/U record of 8-4-1.

These teams met in the season opener in San Diego where the Chiefs beat the Chargers 38-28.

The Chiefs have covered the spread in their last Four Games facing the Chargers.

In their last Game, the Chargers were at home where they beat the Cincinnati Bengals 26-21. L.A. got the win even though they were outGAined by seven yards (295-288) and they GAve up 140 rushing yards while only rushing for 85 yards.

Rivers passed for 220 yards with a TD and no INT and Keenan Allen was his main target with 78 receiving yards and a score. Austin Ekeler led the way with 66 rushing yards and a Scoreaveraging a respectable 4.4 yards per carry. Gordon rushed for 64 yards in the season opening loss to the Chiefs and whoever is in the backfield for the Bolts will be facing a KC defense that GAve up 198 rushing yards in their last Game.

The Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 27-24 in OT in their last Game where they converted two 4th downs on the last drive to force the extra period. One of those conversions was a long one and KC escaped with a win and while they GAve up nearly 200 rushing yards they had 441 total yards.

Mahomes came up big late in the win over the Ravens and for the Game passed for 377 yards with two TD and one INT and was sacked three times. Tyreek Hill had 139 receiving yards and SpeNCer Ware was legit in the backfield with 75 rushing yards.

The KC defense stopped the Ravens late in the Game to preserve the win, but still rank dead last in the NFL in pass defense, which is not good with Rivers coming to town.

Chargers ATS Trends

4-0 ATS in their last 4 road Games

5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games after an ATS loss

Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 Games

Chiefs ATS Trends

0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 Games

4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 Games facing a team with a winning record

Over record of 4-1-1 in their last 6 Games

Jason’s Pick: This is a great matchup on Thursday night and it will be a close Game. However, the Chiefs had issues with the Ravens and their great defense, which the Chargers do not have. He will have a big Game and while Rivers will as well, Kansas City will win and cover at home.
