Kansas City Chiefs (9-1 SU 8-2 ATS) vs. L.A. Rams (9-1 SU 4-6 ATS)

This Monday Night Game was supposed to be played in Mexico City, but the field at Estadio Azteca was deemed not fit to play on, so this Game will be in LA LA LAnd. the Rams have to be happy with that since they are 5-0 at home this season.

The Chiefs have won Four in a row and 2nd year QB and MVP front-runner Patrick Mahomes leads an offense that ranks 2nd in the league in ppg and 4th in passing yards per Game. Their defense ranks in the middle of the pack and you can be that D will be tested in this Game by the Rams.

The Rams got over their first loss of the season by beating the Seattle Seahawks in their last Game. While Mahomes is likely the MVP front-runner L.A. has a couple of MVP candidates as well in QB Jared Goff and RB Todd Gurley. The Rams rank 3rd in the league in ppg and while they rank a solid 12th in the league in points against they have given up an average of 34.3 ppg in their last three Games.

At betonline Sportsbook the Rams are a 3.5-point home favorite with a total of 63.5.

This season the Chiefs are 8-2 ATS with an O/U record of 5-4-1 and the Rams are 4-6 ATS with an O/U record of 5-5.

These teams have not met since the 2014 season.

The Chiefs have covered the spread in their last six Games facing the Rams.

The Chiefs were at home in their last Game and they beat the Arizona Cardinals 26-14. They had a 20-7 halftime lead and for the Game they had 330 yards and GAve up only 260 yards and they forced the Game’s only two turnovers.

Mahomes passed for 249 yards with two TD and no INT, but he was sacked five times. Tyreek Hill was the main target for KC with 117 receiving yards and he hauled in both TD’s. Kareem Hunt rushed for 71 yards averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Mahomes leads the the league in passing yards, already has 31 TD, and in his last Four Games he has 13 TD and only three INT.

The Rams have had issues on D in their last few Games, especially against the run where their run D only ranks 24th in the league.

In their last Game, the Rams were at home and they beat the Seattle Seahawks 36-31 outscoring them 16-10 in the 4th quarter. While they racked up 456 yards and had a good Game on the ground to the tune of 149 rushing yards they GAve up 414 yards iNCluding 273 rushing yards.

Goff passed for 318 yards with two TD and had no INT and Gurley rushed for 120 yards averaging a more than solid 7.5 yards per carry and also had three catches for 40 yards. Brandin Cooks led the Rams with 100 receiving yards and Robert Woods had 89 receiving yards.

KC and their D have their work cut out for them and they rank 23rd in the league defending the run and only 28th defending the pass.

Chiefs ATS Trends

4-0 ATS in their last 4 Games facing a team with a winning record

20-7 ATS in their last 27 road Games

Over record of 6-1 in their last 7 road Games

Rams  ATS Trends

1-6 ATS in their last 7 Games

2-6 ATS in their last 8 home Games

Over record of 4-1 in their last 5 Games facing a team with a winning record

Jason’s Pick: The Rams only have one loss, but they have not been a good bet this season and they have failed to cover the spread in six of their last seven Games. This Game will be a shootout just like the Rams only loss, which was against the New Orleans Saints. This Game will have the same outcome, as in a high scoring affair the Chiefs will not only cover, but get the win as well in what may be a preview of this season’s Super Bowl.
