Detroit Lions (3-5 SU 5-3 ATS) vs. Chicago Bears (5-3 SU 5-3 ATS)

After winning two in a row to get back in the NFC North race the Lions have dropped their last two Games. Their defense has not been terrible in the last two Game, but their offense has only totaling 23 points. Detroit made some history in their last Game, but not in a good way giving up the most sacks in fraNChise history (10).

The Bears are just the opposite of the Lions is that they have won two in a row after losing two straight. They have only given up 19 points in their last two Games and while they are known for their defense, which ranks 4th in the league in points allowed, their offense has been solid ranking 5th in ppg and they scored 41 points in their last Game.

The Bears are a 6.5-point home favorite with a total of 45 points.

This season the Lions are 5-3 ATS with an O/U record of 5-3 and the Bears are 5-3 ATS with an O/U record of 5-3.

This is the first Game this season between these NFC North rivals and last season the Lions beat the Bears twice.

In their last Game, the Lions were in The LAnd of 10,000 LAkes and they lost to the Minnesota Vikings 24-9. Matthew Stafford spent much of the Game on his butt after being sacked 10 times and when he was not he only passed for 199 yards with no TD and no INT. Detroit lost 56 yards on the 10 sacks and for the Game only had 209 total yards.

Detroit’s Kerryon Johnson only rushed for 37 yards and after blowing up for 158 rushing yards in a win over the Miami Dolphins he has only totaled 59 yards on the ground in the last two Games. He will be facing the Bears’ run defense that ranks 3rd in the league so Stafford may have to carry the load yet again.

The Bears were on the road in their last Game and they had no problem crushing the Buffalo Bills winning 41-9. They were up 28-0 at the half and while they scored 41 points they only had 190 total yards while the Bills had 264 yards. Chicago forced three turnovers in the Game and they also scored two TD on defense.

The Bears only had 135 passing yards from Mitchell Trubisky and 47 rushing yards from Jordan Howard, who scored two TD, but the team still had 41 points. Trubisky has eight TD and three INT in his last Four Games and Howard has failed to average over 3.7 yards per carry in his last three Games.

Detroit ranks in the top five in the NFL in pass defense, but their run defense only ranks 30th and in their last Game facing the Vikings they GAve up 128 rushing yards.

Jason’s Pick: The Lions’ offense has sputtered in the last two Games while Chicago has played solid D in their last two Games.
