By: Jason Green

Detroit Lions (5-10 SU 8-7 ATS) vs. Green Bay Packers (6-8-1 SU 6-8-1 ATS)

The Lions have lost two in a row and Four of their last five Games and they will finish the season in the basement of the NFC North. They have only scored 22 points in their last two Games and their offense has struggled most of the season. QB Matthew Stafford has not put up the numbers he has in years’ past and was beNChed in the last Game, but should get the start in this season finale.

The Packers are out of the playoffs, but they are coming off a big OT win in their last Game where Aaron Rodgers looked like his old self. He passed for over 4040 yards and he helped guide the Packers to their first road win of the season. While Green Bay is out of the playoffs they have won two of their last three Games where they put up 78 points.

At 5Dimes sportsbook the Packers are a 7-point home favorite with a total of 44.

This season the Lions are 8-7 ATS with an O/U record of 6-9 and the Chargers are 6-8-1 ATS with an O/U record of 8-7.

Earlier this season in Detroit the Lions beat the Packers 31-23.

The Packers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home Games against the Lions.

In their last Game, the Lions were at home and they lost to the Minnesota Vikings 27-9. They were shut out in the 2nd half and for the Game were outGAined 340 yards to 223 yards and were only 4/16 on 3rd down.

Stafford was 18/32 for 116 yards with no TD and no INT before being yanked for Matt Cassel and while Stafford has a minor back injury will likely play in this Game. Kenny Golladay led the Lions with 58 receiving yards and Zach Zenner lead the team with 45 rushing yards.

The Packers rank 11th in the league in pass defense and while only ranking 20th in run defense they held the Jets to only 47 yards in their last Game.

The Packers were on the road in their last Game in a barnburner beating the New York Jets 44-38 in OT. They ranked up 540 yards and GAve up 370 yards and they had the only turnover in the Game.

Rodgers was huge in the win over the Jets passing for 442 yards with two TD and no INT and also rushed for two TD. Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-SCantling combined for 169 receiving yards and Aaron Jones led the Packers with 95 rushing yards and a TD.

Rodgers passed for 442 yards against the Jets, which is the exact number he passed for in losing to the Lions in Detroit earlier this season. The Lions’ D ranks 10th in the league against the pass and 15th against the run.

Lions ATS Trends

5-2 ATS in their last 7 road Games

0-4 ATS in their last 4 Games facing teams from the NFC North

Under record of 6-0 in their last 6 Games

Packers ATS Trends

0-5-1 ATS in their last 6 Games after an ATS win

1-6 ATS in their last 7 Games facing teams from the NFC North

Over record of 26-12 in their last 38 Games

Jason’s Pick: While the Packers have had a less than stellar season and Rodgers has not looked like the best QB in the league he did so in the last Game. Finishing up the season he will have another big Game and the Packers will win and cover the spread.
