Green Bay Packers (5-7-1 SU 5-7-1 ATS) vs. Chicago Bears (9-4 SU 9-4 ATS)
It is pretty easy for the Packers, as to make the playoffs they will have to win out and then still, probably, need some help. That is a tall task facing a hot Bears’ team in the Windy City and Green Bay is 0-6 on the road this season. They snapped their three-Game losing streak with a win in their last Game and in this one they face a Chicago squad that has the league’s 3rd ranked defense.
The Bears are riding high winners of six of their last seven Games and they can wrap up the NFC North title with a win in this Game. They are 6-1 at home this season and their defense was great in their last Game where they only GAve up six points to the Rams and shut down their dynamic offense.
At 5Dimes sportsbook the Bears are a 5.5-point home favorite with a total of 45.
This season the Packers are 5-7-1 ATS with an O/U record of 7-6 and the Bears are 9-4 ATS with an O/U record of 8-5.
These teams met in Green Bay in the season opener where the Packers beat the Bears 24-23.
The Packers are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 Games facing the Bears, but did not cover in the season opening win against them this season.
In their last Game, the Packers were at home and they beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-20. They outscored the Falcons 20-7 in the first half and while they had fewer overall yards (344-300) they rushed for 138 yards and had two turnovers iNCluding a pick-6.
Aaron Rodgers passed for 196 yards with two TD and no INT and Davante Adams led the Packers with 81 receiving yards. Aaron Jones rushed for 78 yards averaging 4.6 yards per carry with a TD and Rodgers rushed for 44 yards. Rodgers had not put up big numbers in the last three Games, but he has not been picked off in his last nine Games. However, he will be facing a Chicago pass D that ranks 10th in the league and only GAve up 162 passing yards in their last Game and picked off Four passes.
The Bears were also at home in their last Game and put on an impressive defensive performance in their 15-6 win over the L.A. Rams. They only GAve up 214 yards in the Game, only GAve up 52 rushing yards, and they rushed for 194 yards. While they did have three turnovers they forced Four of them and held the Rams to 3/12 on 3rd down.
In the win over L.A. Mitchell Trubisky did not have a great Game passing for only 110 yards with a TD and was picked off three times. The run Game was there though, as Jordan Howard rushed for 101 yards averaging a solid 5.3 yards per carry and Tarik Cohen rushed for 69 yards.
While the Packers rank a legit 8th in the league in pass defense they only rank 24th in run defense, which is a coNCern in this Game facing a run-first Bears’ team.
Packers ATS Trends
1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 road Games
1-5 ATS in their last 6 Games facing teams from the NFC North
Under record of 5-2 in their last 7 Games
Bears ATS Trends
6-1 ATS in their last 7 Games
16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 home Games
Over record of 7-3 in their last 10 Games
Jason’s Pick: The Packers are winless on the road and the Bears are hot and at home, but still taking Green Bay in this one. Rodgers will come up big on the big stage in this Game and the Packers will not only cover, but get the win as well keeping their slim playoff hopes alive.
