Carolina Panthers (6-5 SU 5-6 ATS) vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7 SU 4-6-1 ATS)

After beating the Buccaneers earlier this season for their 3rd straight win the Panthers have fallen flat losing their last three Games. With the Saints in their division they may need to rely on the Wild Card to make the post-season, but their defense has given up 102 points in their last three Games. Head coach Ron Rivera is on the hot season and the Panthers need a win in this Game or they will be .500 and have a tough road to hoe to make the playoffs.

The Buccaneers snapped their Four-Game losing streak in their last Game where they only GAve up nine points. Jameis Winston got the start and had a good Game passing for over 300 yards and with the playoffs not in the cards for the Bucs their last few Games may show weather Winston is their QB of the future. Tampa is all about offense, as they have a dynamic passing Game that has lit it up this season, but their D is one of the worst in the league.

The Panthers are a 3.5-point road favorite with a total of 56.5.

This season the Panthers are 5-6 ATS with an O/U record of 7-4 and the Buccaneers are 4-6-1 ATS with an O/U record of 8-3.

A few weeks ago, in Carolina the Panthers beat the Buccaneers 42-28.

The Panthers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road Games against the Bucs.

The Panthers were at home in their last Game and lost to the Seattle Seahawks 30-27, which was their first home loss of the season. They had more overall yards (476-397) and they defended the run well and rushed for 220 yards, but they had the Game’s only turnover and they GAve up a big play at the end of the Game that led to Seattle’s Game-winning field goal.

Cam Newton passed for 256 yards with two TD and one INT and Christian McCaffrey had a huge Game rushing for 125 yards and also leading the Panthers with 112 yards. He also had a big Game in the last one Carolina won against Tampa Bay, but in that win, they did not turn the ball over. Can the Panthers keep the rock and take advantage of the Tampa Bay defense? Big question in a Game they need to win to keep pace for the NFC Wild Card.

In their last Game, the Bucs were at home beating the San Francisco 49ers 27-9 where they outGAined them 412 yards to 342 yards and forced two turnovers while not committing any.

Winston passed for 312 yards with two TD and no picks and Mike Evans had 116 receiving yards. Peyton Barber led the way with only 47 rushing yards and he only averaged 2.6 yards per carry. He had rushed for 106 yards in his previous Game and he has to help Winston out. Still, Carolina may want to rely on Winston’s arm in this Game facing a Panthers’ pass D that only ranks 22nd in the league.

Key ATS Trends

Panthers ATS Trends

1-4 ATS in their last 5 road Games

1-4 ATS in their last 5 Games facing a team with a losing record

Buccaneers ATS Trends

2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 Games

1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 Games facing teams from the NFC

Over record of 9-3 in their last 12 Games

Jason’s Pick: The Panthers D has struggled in the last few Games and that is not good facing a confident Bucs team that can score. This Game will be close in the Sunshine State and while the Bucs may not get the win they will cover the spread in their house.
