Closed my account with Skybook. I‘ve bet the limit at all of the books on the Don Best Screen for several years, and they are all first class operations - except for SKYBOOK. This place is a first class JOKE.
He stalls me every time I call. He waits to see if the number moves anywhere while I'm on hold, then if it does, he shoots me the next number. He claims he wants to take big action, but that is a lie.
The only way I could ever bet him is if I bet him two minutes before anyone else. When I complained to him, he said " If I see one black mark on the screen - you don't get the number ".
If he puts a good number up, he will never let me have it. But, if I only bet him, he still won't honor the number on the screen if it a good number.
If you bet him now, any don't have any problems with him, it's because one of two reasons:
1. You're a loser, and he's glad to take your action.
or...
2. You're a winner, and he wants to bet your plays. This won't do you any good.
If you are a winner, and he can't bet your plays, then he'll stall and jack you around, then not give you the number on the screen.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, who is a big player has anything good to say about this guy. Before becoming a bookmaker, he was a mover for the big bettors. He had a trerrible reputation as a mover. He was said to move 15,000 - turn in 3,000 instead of half - then scalp you on the turn in.
He's known to have bragged in the poker games at the Mirage that he loves to stall the sharp bettors, then move his line without ever taking a bet from them.
He usually updates off of the other moves on the screen, without even taking a bet.
The other day, CRIS typed the wrong number in their computer, and moved from 2 to pick. Skybook quickly moved from 2 to pick also, afraid that somebody sharp might bet him. But when when CRIS corrected their typo, and changed the line to 1.5, so did SKYBOOK. What a joke !!!
He is more of a bettor than a bookmaker. Everybody knows that anyway. That's why the rumor is that he's in financial trouble. They say he's blown a fortune trying to follow the wise guys. Some big players have told me the only way they would ever bet him is if HE posted up.
He knows he can't follow my plays, so he jacks me around on the phone so he doesn't have to book me. Last year I had a bad season and lost big betting the NBA. But not to Skybook. He was too busy trying to stall me, so I could hardly ever bet him. He would have have won big if just booked my action, but instead, blew his brains out betting my plays at the next number.
Like I said before, if he treats you good, it's either because you are a loser, or he wants to bet your picks.
Beware.
