Spain is the Even favorite for Sunday’s slugfest from South Africa. Netherlands is the +265 underdog and a tie is +225. The total is 2.5 goals, with the ‘under’ -222.

Neither team has ever won the World Cup, so we’re guaranteed to have a first-time winner. Spain is trying to become the first team to win the World Cup after dropping its first Game (Switzerland 1-0).

Spain is coming off a thrilling 1-0 win over Germany. It was their third consecutive 1-0 victory. Spain doesn’t need to Scorea lot because they dominate the time of possession. They were at 57 percent against Germany, which is on the low side for them.

Carles Puyol scored the only goal. It came in the 73rd minute off a header. It was good to see someone Scorebesides David Villa (five of their seven total goals), but Spain can’t be too comfortable always winning by such a slim margin.

Spain was the Euro 2008 champion, ironically beating Germany by the same 1-0 margin. They get a chance to do one better and make amends for an underachieving World Cup history.

Netherlands is a perfect 6-0 in the World Cup after a 3-2 win over Uruguay on Tuesday. The Game was tied 1-1 at the half after a couple of successful long-range shots.

Netherlands opened things up in the second half with goals by Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben, scored three minutes of each other. Sneijder’s five Tourney goals tie him with Villa for the top goal scorer (Golden Boot).

Uruguay had a late goal to make things interesting, but the better team won.

Netherlands has twice made the finals (1974 and 1978), and is considered the best team never to win the World Cup. They already upset Brazil in the quarterfinals, so they won’t be intimidated.

Saturday’s runner-up Game between Uruguay and Germany looks like a great one as well. Uruguay is the +475 underdog, but they will be dangerous with the return of LUis Surarez from his red card. Germany is the -166 favorite, but they’re more disappointed to be playing in this Game than upstart Uruguay.
