Bears vs. Vikings Pick with Analysis

The Chicago Bears (2-3) play host to the Minnesota Vikings (1-4). The Bears come off a Monday Night loss to the Detroit Lions and Minnesota comes off a home victory where they had their best performance of the season dismantling the Arizona Cardinals.
The Chicago Bears are not a difficult team to figure out. They play well at home with their only loss being to the Greenbay Packers. They tend to struggle on the road with losses to Detroit and Atlanta. The Bears will have to find a way to protect Jay Cutler from the defensive line of Minnesota this week and also limit turnovers. Chicago’s defense has played some high octane offenses this year. I look for them to have a strong game especially after the Monday night let down as they were leading the undefeated Lions at the half.
The Minnesota Vikings come off of an impressive win against the Arizona Cardinals riding their offensive weapons including Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin among others. What concerns me about Minnesota is they scored 28 points in the first quarter and 6 the rest of the game. The Vikings gave every opportunity to the Cardinals to get back in the game they just failed to do so. Donavan McNabb was 10-21 for 169 yards passing. They will need a better effort against a game Bear defense.
The Bear’s have to get on track if they have any hope of making the playoffs. The defense still has stars like Lance Briggs and Brian Urlacher to contain Adrian Peterson. The secondary appears to be the Bear's weakness, luckily this week the face a Quarterback not accurate enough to exploit it. The bear’s are 3-0 the last 4 at home against the spread vs. Minnesota. The Bears get down to business and win 31-17 and cover the spread.
