3* Texans +3 over Steelers - Both teams come in at 3-3 and in need of a win with the Steelers coming off a loss to the Browns and the Texans losing two in a row, one to Dallas and one to division rival Indy.
The feeling here is that the Steelers are still getting some respect in the line due to being the "Steelers". A case of their past reputation carrying some weight with the line. I read an article this week that mentioned that the Steelers had a top 10 offense and defense. That may be true with stats that don't matter, however with stats that do matter, they rank near the bottom.
The Steelers offensive yards per point number of 19.2 heading into this week ranks them 30th in the NFL while their defensive number of 14.5 ranks them 21st. The Texans defensive number of 19.9 ranks 3rd in the league while their offensive number of 15.3, while slightly below average, is still considerably better than the Steelers.
A case could be made for the wrong team being favored here and that's kind of driven home when you look at the last few games for these teams. The Texans lost two close games to the Cowboys and Colts while the Steelers lost to the Browns and Bucs and got by the Jags by just a TD.
The Steelers have the home field and an aging Big Ben, but that's about it. We're simply taking who we feel is the better team here.
