3) Betonline - the very first book to post football lines each Sunday
2* Cowboys -9 over Redskins - As long as "America's Team" continues to win, their lines will become more and more inflated. Currently the Cowboys are on a 6 game winning streak which has fans giddy about the future. It will certainly be interesting to see how the rest of their season goes. Right now we have them pegged as a decent playoff team but it's still a bit too early to get overly excited if you're a Cowboys fan.
But they should get this one. They get to go against a QB in Colt McCoy who has only played in 8 NFL games the past 3 seasons. That puts the kid in a tough spot against what should be one of the top 5 or 6 teams in the NFL this year. He went 11 for 12 against the Titans but a repeat performance here is very unlikely.
The Redskins have a turnover differential of -9 which is good for 3rd worst in the NFL, ahead of only the Jets and Jags. Their offensive yards per point number is 18.1, 4th worst in the league and their defensive ypp number is 12.3, 2nd worst in the league, ahead of only the Jets.
So, we have one of the worst teams in the NFL, that can't score and can't stop anyone, starting a QB who hasn't seen much action for the past 3 years, going up against a legitimate playoff contender, at home, on a 6 game winning streak.
If you play the Skins here, you're doing so based on a hunch. You're doing so simply to go against the public in hopes that the Skins can grab a backdoor cover. The NFL can be anything but logical at times and certainly, what SHOULD happen, often doesn't. However, in this spot, we'll go with the logical choice, the better team, the team that SHOULD win rather easily.
