11/7/15

Somehow, some way, Oklahoma State remains undefeated. The Cowboys continue to surpass expectations and now get to take on undefeated TCU at home. In the battle of the unbeatens, the Horned Frogs are a -5 point favorite on the road at 5 Dimes Sportsbook.

These two teams have played in some of the highest scoring Games of the season to date. Oklahoma State is coming off a ridiculous 70-53 win at Texas Tech after being down 31-14 in the second quarter. It hasn’t been the cleanest of roads to being undefeated for the Cowboys (easily could have lost vs. Texas and KSU), but they are here. Reaching that 70-point mark would help in them remaining lossless.

But even on the road, the Horned Frogs get the advantage having played last Thursday and getting a few extra days of rest. This TCU team is ranked higher, but its wins haven’t been more impressive than OK State’s, as they could’ve easily lost at Texas Tech and Kansas State.

Looking at last year’s matchup, the Horned Frogs did whatever they wanted on offense in a 42-9 win with 676 total yards. The difference this season is that the Cowboys actually have a viable offense and should be able to move the ball much better than a year ago.

The biggest reason for that success has been better quarterback play with Mason Rudolph and J.W. Walsh providing a formidable 1-2 punch. Rudolph has his moments as seen in his eight interceptions, but he also can run this offense to perfection when he’s on a roll. Walsh gives another spark with his rushing ability, as seen in last week’s 64-yard TD, but he also has passed for a touchdown in seven straight Games, as defenses usually only worry about his running ability. OK State has the pieces to Scorethis year, but will that be enough against a TCU team that is looking unstoppable?

As seen last week, the Cowboys aren’t great defensively. LUckily for them, the Frogs haven’t been much better, which means we could have another Big 12 Game reach the 100-point mark.

If TCU keeps winning, quarterback Trevone Boykin will find himself in the Heisman conversation by season’s end. He has already passed for 28 TDs and five INTs, to go with 524 rushing yards and six more TDs. Basically, no one has stopped him and it’s unlikely anyone will. Boykin should once again have a big Game along with his speedy WR core led by Josh Doctson, who has 1,250 yards and 14 TDs. Aaron Green (699 yards, 8 TDs) may be the x-factor in this Game at running back, as he provides that extra level of offense for TCU, something that OK State hasn’t been able to do with their ground attack.

The Cowboys are 6-1 ATS in their last seven Conference Games and 5-1 ATS in their last six following an ATS win. The over has hit in Four of TCU’s last five Games vs. a team with a winning record.

Our Pick – Prefer to be taking points in what figures to be a high scoring shootout. Last team with the ball wins? Oklahoma State +4.5
