Utah has won the Pac 12 the last two seasons, but this season have the fourth best odds in a conference that many experts think is wide open.

Here are the futures odds for the winner of the 2023 Pac 12 title game.

USC 2.00

Lincoln Riley is back for the second year in the revival of USC and it helps to bring back Heisman Award winning QB Caleb Williams. The offense is loaded with skill players and should be a high scoring one again. The defense is the main issue and that unit ranked 111th in the nation last season in points per drive. They stocked the defense through the transfer portal with legit players from bigger schools. The Trojans season may hinge on how they play in the second half where in four of their last five games they face Utah, Washington, Oregon, and UCLA but three of those games are at home.

Oregon 3.30

Last season Dan Lanning nearly led Oregon to the conference title game in his first year as head coach. The team returns Heisman hopeful Bo Nix, who led the team to average 38.8 ppg. The skill players around Nix are solid and while the defense lost some key players the unit returns seven starters. The offensive line may be an issue with four new starters. The Ducks hit the road to face Washington and Utah but gets to host USC, which is a HUGE game.

Washington 4.00

Last season Washington averaged 39.7 ppg and they have a Heisman hopeful at QB in Michael Penix Jr. The offensive line has three new starters but Rome Odunze and Jalen McMillan are a great WR 1-2 punch and the run game has talent. The secondary is the major concern for the Huskies and they help the return of two potential star edge rushers in Bralen Trice and Zion Tupuola-Fetui and LB Edefuan Uolofoshio can help mask that. Getting UCLA and Oregon at home will help but UW has two tough road games against USC and Washington.

Utah 5.75

Both star QB Cameron Rising and TE Brant Kuithe are coming off injuries and their play, especially Rising, will be key this season. The offensive line should be a good one and emerging star RB Ja’Quinden Jackson may have a big season. The defense should be very good again but the loss of star CB Clark Phillips will hurt. The Utes have to hit the road to face USC and Washington and they have two tough non-conference games facing Baylor and Florida.

Oregon State 11.00

Oregon State won 10 games last season and has high hopes this season getting one of the best players in the transfer portal in QB DJ Uiagalelei from Clemson. RB Damien Martinez is a rising start, the WR corps is solid, and the offensive line may be one of the best in the nation. The defense improved last season and has some good players but LB Omar Speights transferred and three key players from the secondary are gone.

UCLA Bruins 18.00

True freshman Dante Moore is the likely new starter with Dorian Thompson-Robinson In the NFL. Ball State transfer RB Carson Steele may be the #1 back and while the offense should be good Moore has big shoes to fill. The defense does return eight starters but that unit allowed 29 ppg last season.

Washington State 50.00

Washington State returns QB Cameron Ward (3.231 yards 23 TD last season) but the top four WR are gone and the RB position is an issue. The defense ranked third in the Pac 12 last season and Brennan Jackson and Ron Stone Jr. is one of the better top edge combos. While the Cougars do not face USC they face UCLA, Oregon, and Washington on the road.

Arizona Wildcats 100.00

Arizona improved from one win in 2021 to five wins last season. QB Jayden de Laura returns and while WR’s Jacob Cowing and Tetairoa McMillan also return they lost their top receiver in Jacob Singer, who transferred to USC. The defense only returns three starters and that was a unit that was shredded against the run and gave up 36.5 ppg.

California 100.00

Cal returns 10 starters on defense and have a new QB under center in TCU transfer Sam Jackson V. The Golden Bears have some solid skill players but the line gave up 31 sacks last season and may be an issue again for a team that was 4-8.

Colorado 150.00

Yeah, there is a lot of hype for Colorado with Deion Sanders the new coach. Shedeur Sanders is one of the better QBs the team has had in some time but there are a ton of new players on each side of the ball. Can Prime Time revive a team that finished with one win last season?

Arizona State 150.00

Arizona State won three games last season and they hit the transfer portal hard with 30 new arrivals in Tempe.

Stanford 300.00

Troy Taylor takes over at head coach for Stanford, who have a huge rebuilding project ahead with only six returning starters. The defense was shredded in Pac 12 play last season giving up an average of 36.3 ppg.
