Saturday’s Eastern Conference Finals Game 6

 (Cleveland Cavaliers @ Orlando Magic)

2009 NBA PLAYOFFS

The Cleveland Cavaliers stayed alive in the Eastern Conference finals after LeBron James completely dominated the Orlando Magic with a triple-double and an amazing Fourth quarter performance to win Game five.

Now the series heads back to Orlando with the Cavs facing elimination for the second time in a row in Game six.

Coming into Game five in Cleveland the Magic looked poised to finish the Cavs who have been labeled the favorite to make it to the NBA Finals in the East throughout the playoffs so far. In the first quarter it was the same old story with the Cavs getting out to a huge lead, but the Magic did what they have done all series long by slowly but surely cutting the lead to single digits and eventually taking the lead.

Even though the Magic fought back from another first half deficit the Cavs weren’t done yet as LeBron James just took the Cavs fate into his own hands and was virtually unguardable in the Fourth quarter and got the win.

The Cavs put up a hell of fight in Game five to avoid being knocked out of the playoffs, but the Magic were still able to keep the Game tight and continued to show that they can beat the Cavs in this series.

Every time this Games finish in this series all you seem to hear about is how well LeBron James played to get the win. Granted, LeBron played great in Game five, but the Cavs’ problems remained the same as they were unable to keep a big lead once again and had to depend on LeBron to do pretty much everything in the Fourth to avoid the Magic from taking the lead and ending the series.

So even though LeBron came up big once again in the Fourth quarter to get another win on the Cavs home floor in Cleveland, there is no way he will be able to keep up that pace every single Game left in this series.

I don’t think you can completely count out the Cavs just yet, but I would say without a doubt that the Magic are the all around better team in this series. The Magic have way too many offensive weapons and huge inside presence in Dwight Howard. Yes, the Cavs have LeBron James who is arguably the best player in the NBA right now, but if Cleveland keeps depending on the reigning MVP to do absolutely everything in the final quarter of each Game the Cavs are destined to fall flat on their face.

Game six will be similar to Game five with the Game being close and possibly the Cavs getting out to a big lead early, but the Magic will be the team to come out on top in my opinion. The Cavs just do not match up well with the Magic and cannot hang on to leads so I think the outcome is inevitable and the Orlando Magic will be the team to advance to the NBA Finals.
