Sundays Eastern Conference Finals Game 3
(Cleveland Cavaliers @ Orlando Magic)
All throughout NBA playoff history we have seen clutch last second shots that seem to just get embedded in Our minds. Michael Jordan hit countless clutch shots throughout his career, most of those shots coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers ironically enough. Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant both have their fair share as well, but few players actually have what it takes to come through in the clutch, take the Game in the hands and finish off their opponent with a Game winner.
LeBron James has officially joined this club of the NBAs elite clutch players with his amazing Game winning shot against the Orlando Magic on Friday. With only one second remaining and the Magic up by two after Hedo Turkoglu just hit a clutch shot on the other end, Mo Williams took the ball out of bounds at half cOurt after a timeout. The options were limited with one second left and the best play any team could do in this situation is a catch and shoot. Of course the one guy the Cavs want to take the shot is LeBron James and that is exactly what happen as LeBron caught the ball and couple feet back from the three point line with a couple defenders running at him and drained the best shot of his career so far to win the Game and tie the series.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Orlando Magic Game 3
I dont think you could get a better ending then what we saw in Game two, but the Cavs backs were against the wall and they were in a must win situation.
Although the Cavs tied up the series in dramatic fashion they are still in trouble in this series as the Magic have proven they and beat the Cavs and Cleveland has shown they cant hold a lead no matter how big against the Magic.
Initially this series was headed for six Games with the Cavs advancing, but now I believe this series, much like the Lakers and Nuggets series, will go the full seven Games.
As this series shifts to Orlando the Cavs will be in a must win situation in the next two Games away from Cleveland. The Magic are more than capable of winning the next two on their home floor and going back to the Q up 3-1 in the series.
No one has played better at home than the Cavs this season, but the Magic have already won one Game in Cleveland and were 1.0 second away from winning two straight. If the Cavs want to hold on to the hopes of an NBA championship they will need to at least win one of the next two Games in Orlando.
LeBrons shot will be the only thing people will be taking about right now, but the fact is the Cavs blew a 23 point lead to get stuck into that position where they had to hit a last second shot. The Cavs will be riding high into Cleveland after this win, but Ill bet the Magic arent all that disappointed and will be looking to show that they are the better team in Game three at home.
