Tuesday’s NBA Playoff Match Ups

(Hawks @ Cavs Game 1, Mavs @ Nuggets Game 2)

5/5/09

It has seemed like forever, but we will finally see LeBron James back on the floor with his seemingly NBA finals bound Cavaliers taking on the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night in Cleveland.

Not only will we all be witnesses to whatever a rested LeBron James has in store for us against the lowly beaten and bruised Hawks, but we will also get to see the Nuggets and Mavs go head to head again in Game two which promises to be just as physical as Game one was in Denver.

Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers Game 1

It has been a while, but I am sure that won’t stop LeBron James and company from destroying the Hawks at home in Cleveland in Game one of their second round series.

I am sure there will be plenty of people claiming the Hawks are for real and actually have a chance to do something in this series against the Cavs, but anyone that actually knows this Game and does his or her homework knows this has sweep written all over it!

I really don’t see the Hawks have any chance in this series. There is a possibility they could avoid the sweep by stealing a Game at home in Atlanta, but the Cavs are just too good for the half ass Hawks and any team in the East for that matter.

I think we will see another sweep by the Cavs here, but you never know what can happen in the postseason this year. Just look at the Chicago Bulls!

Dallas Mavericks @ Denver Nuggets Game 2

This should be another good, physical and competitive match up between the Mavs and the Nuggets in Game two.

Game one was a battle. The Mavs came out to play early and kept the Nuggets on their heels the entire first half, but after the Nuggets started playing with some great team chemistry they left the Mavs in the dust and took over the Game.

One thing is for certain in my opinion though after watching Game one, someone will be suspended in this series. If you saw Kenyon Martin throw Dirk Nowitzki to the floor in the first quarter and then Nene and Jason Terry mixing it up later in the Game then you know what I am talking about. I am not sure what these two teams have against each other, but there is definitely some bad blood here.

It is pretty much a sure thing we will see some very physical play in Game two and for the rest of the series. I fully expect the Nuggets to win this series, but I think the Mavs will win one or possibly two Games. In the end though we will see the Nuggets advancing to the Western Conference finals to face the Los Angeles Lakers (my pick for Western Conference champs for the second straight year).
