Rams

vs.

Cowboys

Week 4

NFL Pick

10/1/17

By: Jason Green

L.A. Rams (2-1 SU 1-2 ATS) vs. Dallas Cowboys (2-1 SU 2-1 ATS)

The Rams are off to a good 2-1 start, but their wins have come against the weaker teams of the Colts, minus Andrew LUck, and they 49ers where they only won by two points. Still, a win is a win and they are getting good play from 2nd year QB Jared Goff. Still, this Game facing solid Cowboys will be a good litmus test to see how good one of the teams from LA LA LAnd is.

At 5 dimes sportsbook the Cowboys are 6.5-point favorites with a total of 47.

The Cowboys grinded out a Monday night with over the Arizona Cardinals where it was a big wins for the young guys of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot after getting throttled in their previous Game. Dallas is tied with Washington and Philadelphia atop the NFC East and they cannot take the Rams for granted since they put up 41 points in their last Game.

These teams met last in the 2014 season in St. Louis where the Cowboys beat he Rams 34-31.

The Rams won a barnburner in their last Game beating the San Francisco 49ers 41-39. They had three fewer yards in the Game, but had a better Game on the ground and were big in the clutch going 8 for 12 on 3rd downs. Goff was 22 for 28 for 292 yards with 3 TD and 0 INT and the WR duo of Robert Woods and Sammy Watkins each had over 100 receiving yards. Todd Gurley rushed for 113 yards with 2 TD and after a less than stellar opener he has rushed for over 200 yards with 3 TD in his last two Games.

The Rams will face a Cowboys defense that was not good in the air in their last win, but stuffed the run.

The Cowboys beat the Arizona Cardinals 28-17 in their last Game even though they were out-GAined 332 yards to 273 yards and did not force a turnover. Dak Prescott played the hero passing for a TD and rushing for one in the 4th quarter and for the Game he was 13 for 18 for 183 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT. He came up with some big plays when it mattered and had to late. Elliot rushed for 80 yards and while only averaging 3.6 yards per carry he helped move the chains and keep the Arizona offense on the sidelines.

Dallas did have six sacks in the win over the Cardinals so the Rams’ offensive line has their work cut out for them. However, if they can protect Goff he will face Dallas pass D that allowed Arizona’s Carson Palmer to pass fro 325 yards with 2 TD and 0 INT.

The Rams are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 Games overall, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road Games, and in their last 5 Games they have an Over record of 5-0.

The Cowboys are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 Games overall, 1-6 ATS vs. a team with a winning record, and in their last 8 Games facing teams from the NFL they have an Under record of 6-2.

Jason’s Pick: The Rams are 2-1, but they are simply not very good. They are getting less than 7 points in the Big D this Sunday? Jump on that one, as the Cowboys will easily win this Game and cover the spread in their house.
