Oakland Raiders (1-8 SU 2-7 ATS) vs. Arizona Cardinals (2-7 SU 5-3-1 ATS)

This Game is between two of the more disappointing teams this season with the Raiders and Cardinals, who have only combined for three wins. Jon Gruden’s 2nd go-around with Oakland has not started well and they have already begun the house cleaning trading away #1 WR Amari Cooper. They have lost five in a row and one thing the Raiders have going for them is balaNCe, but in a bad way, as they rank 30th in the league in ppg and 30th in points allowed.

The Cardinals have lost three of their last Four Games and they are with the Raiders and the 49ers, as the teams that could get the #1 pick in the next draft. Josh Rosen has shown flashes, but the rookie QB has still taken his knocks. Arizona ranks 2nd to last in the league in ppg, 31st in passing yards per Game, and dead last in rushing yards per Game. Both of their wins on the season have come facing the 2-8 49ers.

At 5Dimes sportsbook the Cardinals are a 4-point home favorite with a total of 40.5.

This season the Raiders are 2-7 ATS with an O/U record of 3-6 and the Cardinals are 5-3-1 ATS with an O/U record of 3-6.

These teams have not met since the 2014 season.

The Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last five Games facing the Cardinals.

In their last Game, the Raiders were at home and lost to the L.A. Chargers 20-6. They were only outGAined by 18 yards (335-317) and had the same number of turnovers, but could not convert early chances. They dominated the Chargers in the first quarter outGAining them 135-6, but only came away with three points and were stuffed on a 4th and goal attempt.

Derek Carr passed for 243 yards with no TD and no INT, was sacked Four times, and he spread the wealth with Jared Cook leading Oakland with 52 receiving yards. Doug Martin had a decent Game going for 61 rushing yards averaging 4.1 yards per carry and overall the Raiders rushed for 114 yards.

Oakland may want to give the rock to Martin early and often in this non-Conference Game, as Arizona ranks 4th in the league in pass defense, but only 29th in run defense.

The Cardinals were on the road in their last Game and they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 26-14. They were outscored 20-7 in the first half and they had 260 total yards while giving up 330 yards and committed the Game’s only two turnovers. Josh Rosen passed for 208 yards with one TD and he ACCounted for both turnovers with two picks. RB David Johnson hjad his best Game of the season, by far, rushing for 97 yards averaging 4.7 yards per carry and he had a TD.

The “strength” of the Raiders’ defense is their pass defense, which ranks 21st in the league while their run D ranks 2nd to last.

Raiders ATS Trends

2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 road Games

1-4 ATS in their last 5 Games facing a team with a losing record

Under record of 6-1 in their last 7 road Games

Cardinals

5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 Games

5-2 ATS in their last 7 home Games

Under record of 20-7 in their last 27 home Games

Jason’s Pick: While the Cardinals only have two wins they have been a good betting team going 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven Games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven home Games. Look for those trends to continue against the reeling Raiders, as the Cardinals will get their 3rd win of the season and cover the spread as well.
