Washington Redskins vs. Miami Dolphins – Week 6 NFL Betting Analysis

Washington Redskins (0-5 1-4 ATS) at Miami Dolphins (0-4 0-4 ATS)

In a battle of winless teams in the Sunshine State the Dolphins host the Redskins with Washington the 3.5-point favorite with a total of 41.5.

The public has backed the Redskins in this game so far, as they opened as a six-point favorite and as of Wednesday are a 3.5-point favorite.

The Skins are winless, recently fired head coach, and they have scored a grand total of 10 points in their last two games. They still plan not to play 1st round draft pick Dwayne Haskins for this game Case Keenum will get the start in this HUGE game.

The Dolphins have been blown out in every game this season and they may be the worst team ever. They have been outscored 163-26 on the season and all eyes in South Beach are getting the #1 pick in the next draft.

In their last game the Redskins lost to the New England Patriots 33-7 and the Dolphins lost to the L.A. Chargers 30-10.

These teams have not met since the 2015 season and the favorite is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five games between these non-conference teams.

Lost Season

While many knew the Dolphins would be terrible and tank this season the same cannot be said about the Redskins. However, they have a horrible defense and they have used three QB’s through five games.

Haskins was not good in his debut and will be shelved for at least another week and Keenum will get back the starting rose after missing the last game with a foot injury. In the last game where the Skins lost, they were dominated after a decent start being outgained 442 yards to 220 yards.

Keenum has passed for 970 yards with seven TD and four INT and he has a less than good WR corps and a run game that has struggled all season.

Hard to believe the Redskins don’t rank last in the league in rushing yards per game, as they rank 27th with their leading rusher being Adrian Peterson with only 108 rushing yards.

At least the Washington offense will face a Miami defense that ranks last in the league against the run and 2nd to last in the league against the pass.

The Tank Continues

It is widely believed that the Dolphins are tanking the season to get the #1 pick in the next draft. That is not out of the realm of possibility to how they have played but it also does not help that Miami is simply not talented on either side of the ball.

Ryan Fitzpatrick or Josh Rosen has not worked out and Rosen got the start in the last game, which was a 30-10 loss to the Chargers where he passed for 180 yards with a TD and an INT.

Kenyon Drake leads the Dolphins with 113 rushing yards and rookie Preston Williams and DeVante Parker lead the team with 201 receiving yards each.

The Fish will be facing a Redskins’ defense that has been terrible this season, period. However, will the Dolphins try to move the ball and get the win if it may cost them the #1 pick in the next draft? Big question.

Our Prediction

The Redskins are 0-4 ATS in their last four games and they face a Dolphins team that is 0-7 ATS in their last seven games and 0-4 ATS in their last four home games.

I do not see Miami coming out big in this game trying to win to lose the top pick in the next draft. The Redskins will move the ball early and often, and in a game that I do not think will be close Washington will easily win and cover the spread.

 PICK: Redskins -3.5
